Sadly, I am unable to offer this personal service at the moment.

Until I can restore this service, please can you leave any questions you have on an appropriate page, where they will be answered as soon as possible, or below, if you can't figure out where to ask.

I look forward to your questions!

Dave L - like the man in the orthopaedic shoes,

"I stand corrected"

So with Freeview in Wales they put S4C in the 4 slot - where is C4 ?

Although I live in Wales we get Midlands TV so I never knew.

Just know I had to lie about my address to the STB to get Granada!

Steve freesat uses SCART mainly, connect this with a good quality Scart lead to AV1 on your tv and select RGB in the menu. This gives richer colours and sharper details than CVBS output. Some more expensive Freesat and non-Freesat fta satellite boxes also offer S-Video 4 pin connectors and/or S-Video via SCART.

Anthony the Freesat box offers SCART choices of

Composite
RGB

RGB better but I think it was on that when I started.

I recall now that the box menu itself is very hard to read!

Steve P: In Wales Channel 4 is on logical channel number 8. It is carried on PSB2 in lieu of E4 which is on COM5 instead. See :

ALL TV transmissions in the UK are already entirely digital! Freeview, FreeSat and Sky are digital signals anyway. The issue I suspect is whether your connection to the TV is using the analogue outputs from the box to the TV, these could be in RGB, S-VHS, or composite format. RGB is better than the others. The only other possibility is if your equipment, TV and box, have an HDMI output/input. That 'may' give an improvement but don't waste money on 'gold' connectors as they are no better than any other - just more expensive!
It would be quite pointless (sorry for the pun!) complaining to the broadcaster of Pointless (BBC feeds are used) as the problem as described is unique to that programme, or have we misunderstood your point? Worth noting that no one else seems tro be complaining.
I was wondering how old your 14" TV was? The thought being that perhaps it is a CRT type and the tube is showing signs of aging and giving a blurred image.

david:
I suggest you ask Sky themselves. They may suggest a 'multi-room' package or a second subscription, they can be a bit unpredicatable.
Make sure youn explain clearly what you actually want to achieve and with what equipment as they sometime tell you to distribute the RF signals from an adapter on the box - but that means all TVs get a poorer quality picture (except the one connected by HDMI/Scart) and all will have to view the one programme on all TVs! Separate boxes has an advantage but each needs feeder cables from the LNB (2 per box for Sky+ or one for non-Sky+ boxes).

M. Ruthra-Rajan: For the third time - can we please have a postcode, it really helps...

If your getting no signal, your system has a fault, perhaps a broken cable, etc. Since your getting some channels, it might be a faulty aerial lead, or a loose connection somewhere.

As there is no 'ITV Encore' page on this website yet, I am posting this here.

ITV Encore starting on 9/06/2014.
Sky EPG channel 123.

Don't know but expect it is also on Free Sat From Sky (Sky non prescription with card)

Channel is encrypted, so will not be on Freesat.
