Today Ofcom published the quarterly report into the digital TV market.

One interesting graphic from the report shows the overlap between Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview. In addition to the 10.1m homes with just Freeview, 6.1m have Freeview and Sky, 2.5m Freeview and Virgin, and just 54,000 homes with all three services.

I have modified the graphic to show the proportions to scale:

It is very notable that of the homes that have Sky, 70% have Freeview as well. For Virgin customers, 89% of them also use Freeview.

The figures in the report also show only 7.3% of homes are left with analogue services, a figure that will fall to zero as the digital switchover continues.

Freesat was up 69.5%, adding 242,000 homes in the April to June 2010, to a total of 1,625,000.

There are now 28.6 million Freeview enabled set (47.5% of all the TV sets in the land), 18.7m homes using Freeview (73.2% of the total), and 10.1m homes where Freeview is the only digital TV service.
