From Arqiva (the transmission provider for all terrestrial TV and most radio services in the UK):

Digital Switch Over completed for Belmont and Oliver's Mount transmitter groups

The Digital Switch Over process for the Belmont transmitter group, serving Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, and Oliver’s Mount serving Scarborough, has been successfully implemented by Arqiva.

Most digital multiplexes are now being transmitted at high power from the main station at Belmont and, for the first time, from its three dependent relays at Grimsby, Lincoln Central and Weaverthorpe. The Arqiva A and Arqiva B multiplexes at Belmont must remain at lower power until 23 November as planned. At Oliver’s Mount all six digital multiplexes are now at high power, with its single dependent relay at Hunmanby carrying digital signals for the first time.

Following the analogue switch-off for BBC Two on 3 August, the remaining analogue signals for BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 ceased by 00:26 on Wednesday 17 August. The new digital signals entered official service at Belmont at 05:50 and Oliver’s Mount at 04:30, with the last of the relays completed by 14:00.

Why are The Arqiva A and Arqiva B multiplexes at Belmont at lower power until 23 November? Will they be at the same power as the other multiplexes at Belmont? At the moment I cannot receive any channels they broadcast!

john knight: Because they clash with the pre-switchover allocations at the Tacolneston transmitter, which switches over on .. 23 November.

Great bril the switchover has happened. Not very good for me though as I cannot get any HD channels (50,51,52 & 54) on Freeview as the tuner in my LG HDTV is not able to decode the signal. The only way I can see me getting the HD channels is spend more money and get an HD Freeview box,is that correct? What a con.

Since the switchover at Olivers Mount all channels from D3+4 and ARQA multiplexes have disappeared or are highly pixelated. Any ideas what I can do?? My postcode YO11 2BJ.

Many Thanks

Gavin Richardson: You're just under 1km from Olivers Mount.
Pre-DSO, all MUXs were 100W, and post-DSO they're now 2kW (PSBs) or 1kW (COMs).
The power increase may be overloading your system, particularly if you have a distribution amplifier, and you may need to use an attenuator on the aerial input.

We have a caravan just south of Bridlington. The postcode of the site is YO25 8TP. We have almost perfect reception of digital channels through the day and early evening but at about 20:45 each night all channels start to break up and it's impossible to watch. Any suggestions?
