Freeview 2, Freesat 102, Sky 102 and watch online.

Freeview 2, Freesat 102, Sky 102 and watch online.
published on UK Free TV

How is the free channel paid for?

The £528.3m BBC Two budget is funded by the £3,596m Television Licence Fee, and represents 14.7% of all BBC spending - that's about 42p per week per person.

Is the channel live, pre-recorded, new content or repeats?

BBC Two has live presentation, but almost all programmes are pre-recorded, with the exeption of The Daily Politics and Newsnight. Almost all shows are commissioned by the BBC and most have having their first showing.

What's the channel's unique selling point?

A healthy diet of lifestyle programmes, documentaries, comedy, quiz programmes and drama.

The programme schedule highlights

6pm quiz, 6:30pm popular history, 10pm entertainment, 10:30pm Newsnight.

The bits to avoid

The afternoon schedule (The Weakest Link, Flog It!) is lacking the imagination of peak time programmes.

Not available in HD. Increasing tendancy to show programs already shown on Sky.

today I have committed to become a Freesat customer but I am not too sure if I need a Homeplug to receive BBC Iplayer. If so what on earth is a homeplug how do I use and install please. Any help is appreciated.

Trevor Harris: BBC TWO HD will replace the BBC HD channel later this year. I have no idea which BBC programmes are first shown on Sky. I can't find any.

maureen: It depends on how far your internet router is from your Freesat box.

Maureen: To get BBC iPlayer content on your Freesat box, it needs a connection to the Internet. The best way of doing this is to connect an Ethernet cable from the box to your home router. Or, you may be able to use WiFi if the Freesat box has that built-in, or if the manufacturer sells a 'dongle' that adds WiFi capability to the box.

'Homeplug' is a brand name for data carried over the house's wiring, meaning you don't have to run another cable. The capacity depends on how good the house wiring is, and they can cause additional interference on DAB and FM radios.

I love the BBC2, it showed me lots of cool shows like the Young Ones back in the 80s.

Surely "Homeplug" is the generic name - Devolo, Belkin etc are the brand names?

To any user of short wave radio these home plugs are bad news as they are know to effectivly jam the short wave spectrum making it just about inpossible to enjoy reception on the band and there are times when it is not possible to use web radio instead and not every one has access to the internet but would use short wave instead.
Use a eithernet cable for a fraction of price (and thats the fastest connection to cable in street anyway) or set up a network using a proper wireles router instead and dont produce RFI all over the spectrum SWL since 1980 88 & 73's who know what the digits mean oh that will be all the radio hams in the world Good DX'ing too
