To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:

Try this:

1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;

2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;

3) wait 30 seconds;

4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;

5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;

6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;

7) do a complete scan for channels again.

The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

At the weekend the one of our freeview boxes (Icecrypt T5000) lost signal on all BBC channels (I'm guessing the BBCA MUX). A retune found some stuff above channels 800.
Yesterday our other TV with built in freeview (connected to a different aerial) lost the same MUX and a retune didn't find anything.
We are using the Sutton Coldfield transmitter which doesn't seem to have any related issues at the moment but it does seem to coincide with the start of BT Sport.
Anyone else in the Warwick area experiencing this?

Keep losing reception in mornings - no signal until afternoon on different TVs all fed by same aerial - but Youview box on same aerial does have a signal. What's going on?

My post code HD58LS. Aerial beamed to Emley mast. All BBC channels are fine but over the last few weeks all ITV stations,channel 4 and 5 are breaking up or have no signal this applies only in the evenings during the day all is fine. On odd occasions this applies at other times which I assumed was due to weather conditions.

I have had missing channels (ITV etc) on and off over the weekend, have done retune several times and they have returned. My question is WHY does this happen? I turn off at night and then oops in the morning gone again, I have not done anything. Thank you.

Why do I only have program guide for some channels and nothing for others using a freeview combi box?

Catherine: this is normally due to a weak signal from your aerial. You might need a new aerial or an aerial amplifier.

Nadica:
I am having problems with all digital tv programs on equipment that has a dvd player, eg. TV with DVD player, and blueray hard disc recorder with DVD player. The TV and hard disc recorder without DVD are ok.
This happened before when my son was staying with me and his equipment interferred with my TV and hard disc recorder with DVD's. Once he moved out everything returned to normal. However for no reason the same problem has returned. I have a digitital TV outside TV aerial.
I would be grately to find out why this is happening.
Regards Patricia

patriicia haddock: I'm not totally sure exactly as to what equipment you have, but I'm guessing a Freeview TV (with DVD player?), a HDD recorder with blu-ray, and a HDD recorder, all connected to an external aerial.

Interference might be due to lots of things, but if your sons equipment did effect it, then its likely that your coax cable connecting the TV and other items to the aerial isn't very good. ATV do seemingly pretty good ones Satellite, Television, FM, DAB, Aerial, Coaxial Cable, Plugs, Sockets, Connectors & Leads for £3 - the shielding inside them should help, and since you could pay ten times the price for much the samething in a certain supermarket, they are a bargain.

Since I'm guessing as to what the setup is, this is how I'd set up things.
A good quality aerial lead to the back of the HDD Blu-ray player. This is almost certainly a Panasonic or Samsung, and both will only have an HDMI port. Use a decent HDMI lead (again, to avoid interference, although do not spend a huge amount) to connect the recorder to the TV.

Then get another good quality aerial lead to connect the recorder to the aerial port on the back of the TV - this will be in the manual, and is called 'looping through', etc.

Thats it. The Recorder with Blu-Ray will have two HD tuners, so you can use one the watch HD (if your TV does not have an HD tuner), while the other would record. Blu-Rays play DVD's and Blu-Ray, so the DVD player could be left out.

Obviously you might want the other equipment for various reasons, but I'd start with that setup, and go from there. The more items you have, and certainly the more you have connected up, the more chances you have of something going wrong, so try to sort out one bit at a time.
