If you have a computer-based personal video recorder, this can be used to convert the recorded TV programmes to a format suitable for viewing on a portable player.

Just as you might synchronise a portable MP3 player (such as an iPod) to your music collection, there are now several portable players that can also display TV programs.

When your portable player is connected to your computer, a suitable piece of software (such as Windows Media Player 10) will copy the programmes you select to the portable player, so you can then watch them on the move or on at TV set away from home.

You can automatically select particular shows, or programmes that you have not watched yet to be copied to the portable player.
