Stu, some free to air sky/freesat tv and radio channels that have moved to Astra 2 that provide their services on a pan-european basis will also use the pan-european beam that spreads across a good part of Europe as well as the whole of the UK.

I have the Skybox + and have just ended my subscription.
I can see the Free-to- air channels - is that FSFS?- but how do I switch to view the others mentioned (Freesat)?
I have a dish and an antenna.
No requirement to record.

Thanks for your time!

Hi
I have read all the above and am still somewhat confused.
If after 12 mths I stop my SKY subscription. What channels will I be able to receive on my SKY plus HD box.
1) with the sky card in
2) with the sky card out.
Many thanks
JB

And it's on Logical Programme Number 67. Channel 67, Frequency 837 MHz, so is in the 4G band and no longer available for TV usage.

MikeP: Not meaning to quibble ... but the industry people use LCN ("Logical Channel Number").

The Frequency is currently C27 (522.0MHz), C29 (538.0MHz) and C57 (762.0MHz) - as the local multiplexes use the "interleaved frequencies" in the national plan.

I would venture to suggest that use of the word 'channel' in LCN leads to additional confusion in the non-technical user. 'Industry people' do not always choose the most helpful explanations for the general public, so they end up getting somewhat confused.
I'd suggest we need a meaningfully correct terminology and that, in my view, the term LCN or its expansion is not helpful.
