Will the Digital signal in Ludlow be much better than the fuzzy weak signal we now get when digital is turned on?

Matthew: Yes, of course, you will get perfect digital reception, like everyone else. There is no such thing as "fuzzy weak" with digital, you either get it perfectly, or not at all.

Note, however, the limited list of channels for this relay transmitter.

heard a rumour that people in ludlow area who have turned there aerial towards either wrekin or ridge hill main transmitters in order to get freeview are about to experience problems on switchover as there are repeater transmitters in line.

We've recently moved into the area (Middleton near Ludlow - SY8 3ED), into a new housing association property. Looking at the aerial on the roof it looks quite new but receives absolutely nothing, no analogue or digital and looking at where it's pointing on Google maps the only transmitter in it's line of sight seems to be the Sutton Coldfield one (it's pointing at 47 deg and is mounted Vertical, and it's on the roof).
Is there any reason why the people who owned this house may have pointed it this way, is there a transmitter out there that will be switched on when the switch over happens or has the aerial shifted a bit?

Darren Forster: Your only reasonable chance of digital reception will happen when the Ludlow transmitter becomes digital on Wednesdays 6th/20th April 2011.

The Ludlow transmitter is at 236 degrees, vertical.

Otherwise, you should go for Freesat.

Darren Forster: The Digital UK postcode checker shows reasonably good reception from Ludlow for the 3 PSB muxes only from switchover. It also shows variable reception on all six muxes for Ridge Hill from switchover. A good quality group A receiving aerial set for horizontal polarisation at 168 degrees is required for Ridge Hill after switchover. If an 18 element aerial is found to be inadequate a high gain aerial such as a Blake DMX10A or Triax Unix52A might be required. Note MuxBBCB from Ludlow will now use C39 from 20th April 2011 following an adjustment to the original frequency plan.

KMJ,Derby: Sorry, are we looking at the same thing for Darren Forster?

All I can see for Ridge Hill is "Variable reception" getting worse and worse over the coming two years...
