thanks Mark, if only it were just that. The digi aerial cable is securely in place, plugged in and switched on, with power (green light)It's located directly above externally pretty much and the new sat dish is at the back of the house so no possibility of dislodging in the changeover either...help

Hi Mark, it's a box. The aerial cable comes through the outside wall into it (tansformer?Vision V23-560)there's another cable coming out of the same end which goes into the tv, and a power cable the opposite end plugs into the mains. It was fitted about 2 years ago when we upgraded the roof aerial to improve the Freeview pics on tv and it did the trick until we changed to Sky+HD

Hi Deb,

That sounds like a power supply unit for a masthead amp, it should be marked up with aerial/in & tv/out, make sure that it is connected the right way round with aerial/in going to the outside & the tv/out is going to the tv.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help:
We have a samsung tv with built in freeview hd, but are trying to get freeview through an old sky box as our aerial doesnt recieve freeview very well. The sky box is working but the picture has a lot of interference and I dont know how to get rid of it! Do you think I need to try and change the RF channel? I think it has automatically set to C68? Thanks

Laura Trowbridge: First, you can't get Freeview though anything other than a TV aerial.

To get Freeview HD you will need to connect the TV set to an aerial that is pointing at a transmitter with Freeview HD.

Is the Sky box not connected to the TV set using a SCART cable?

We tried connecting the TV to the aerial wall socket originally but couldn't pick up many freeview channels (not even the 4 main analogue channels) so gave up on that idea. We could get the BBC1-channel 4 in analogue through the aerial but that was really fuzzy. There is a sky dish and cable coming through separately where we rent so we have tried to use the sky box to recieve freeview- we can get more channels but they are all a bit fuzzy. The sky box is connected to the TV using the aerial cable - is that the wrong way to do it?

Laura Trowbridge: What is the make and model of the TV set? It would be very strange for it not to have a single SCART input.

You will not get a good picture without the SCART connection.

It is a samsung UE40C6540. I have just found what looks like a possible scart adaptor in the box? Do you think thats probably why the picture quality is bad? Thanks
