Thanks for the explanation, my aerial is set vertical and has had to have amplifiers fitted as it is serving 6 freeview appliances with lowish signal levels and errors on some channels before changeover. Would that have anything to do with the problem as the c25 and c28 have lower but acceptable levels than c23 and c26 but most of the boxes find them after the stronger ones and replaces them, giving them the strange digital channel numbers.

mike fisher: On 28th September 2011 the power of the COM muxes will increase to 400W, the same as the present level on the PSB muxes. You will then be able to insert an attenuator before scanning to "lose" the unwanted weak signals. In the meantime if you are not able to perform a manual tune the receiver will find all the signals that are strong enough to store. When an identical mux is found later in the scan the box will either ignore it or with some models replace the one found previously. If a regional variation is detected the second version of the mux is usually placed in the 800s of the channel list, but on some boxes it displaces the mux found first into the 800s (or stores the channels in any random vacant slot). Some boxes now give the option of choosing which region is stored in the normal slots or have a channel swap facility.

alan kirby: An "HD ready" tv simply means it is able to display an HD picture when it is fed via an HDMI cable with a suitable HD source such as a Blue-ray player, Sky or Freesat HD box or a Freeview HD box.Receivers for Freeview HD must be able to support DVB-T2.

After the digital changeover and retuning, here in the south of Kidderminster I cannot receive C47 satisfactorily and so am without Yesterday, Film 4 and ITV4. Will this change in September?

Mike Fisher: C27 is Mux ArqB from Ridge Hill. If it works ok don't worry, the signal from Bromsgrove is on C34 but at low power until September.
