I've just moved to a new house in Wimbledon. In the bedroom I have 2 aerial sockets labelled UHF and VHF. When I connect to my digital TV and complete the automatic tuning it won't pick up ITV, Channel 4 or Channel 5 on either analogue or digital sources.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Jamesh76: If it's in the bedroom and there's a socket in another room, such as the lounge, then I'd take the TV to it and tune it in.

Can you ascertain as to whether there is a TV aerial connected to the socket in question? Perhaps trace where the cable runs and check that it is connected properly within the socket.

I have a Phillips TV Model number 32PFL5522D/05 with an built in digital, since the switch over we have had to retune the tv every time we turn it on, I've tried to retune manually but I'm not able to do this. I have taken the advice of Briantist and switched off etc. but still no joy......any ideas??
I live in Somerset TA8 area.
Thankyou

Dusica: If my memory serves me correctly on that model you should be able to manually install channels under the "Installation / Service set up / Manual install service" menu.

However I would recommend that you carry out a factory reset first then followed by an auto-tune, this achieved by holding down the Menu button on the side (or top) of the TV (not remote) for about 5 seconds or so until a menu appears, then carry out steps 1-5 as though you were first installing the set.

Jenny: The usual reason for this happening is because more channels are being picked up than the memory is capable of storing, hence when the set is switched off they get lost.

You have to carry out a factory re-set first (sometimes called default setting) then cary out a normal auto tune.
