Since the retune in June all my channels are working well (in Witham on Sudbury transmitter).
I see in the frequency list in the column headed 2015? another aerial group is shown, does this mean aerials will have to be changed?

John Chambers: I think you'll find that the W refers to Wideband. If your aerial, like mine, is an EW (Group E, Wideband), then it 'should' be able to receive channels outside the current range. However, as in many cases, it can be all down to location. Maybe lower frequencies are easier to receive than higher ones? No doubt someone out there can verify this. I'm currently getting all channels at home with no problems.

I have been experimenting again, this time really to test a booster, just using an old B group, 9 elements with the reflector fallen off.
After much investigation I find I am getting Clacton. Just wish I could get what I am supposed to, Channel 60, from Sudbury.

Kevin, I was hoping JB or Dave would pop in and make a comment or two, but never mind.
I am also hoping someone will come in and say they also have trouble with the mux on c60, Pick and Challenge. Put up the last aerial yesterday, fine reception on all channels, 2 hours later, c60 signal quality down to 30% and channel unwatchable. Given up.

Nick : I know this has been a long-running saga, but I guess you did rule out something else interfering on Channel 60? Old VCR or something using that channel somewhere in the circuit?

Nick: The reason for not making any comment as such was because I didn't really feel that I could add anything constructive to the conversion over what's already been said, because this problem you are having with channel 60 is in my opinion basically outwith your control, as although the six multiplexes used by Sudbury may well be radiating from the same mast and with their ERP powers being identical (at the mast anyway!) this does not necessarily mean that they are all going to be picked up at anywhere near to the same levels as each other.

Have you as yet made any enquiries with neighbours as to whether or not they can receive Ch60? as I have my doubts that they will unless they are fortunate enough to be positioned slightly better as far as picking up any Ch60 signal troughs are concerned, that is should they exist!

The other point being you having mentioned trying tests using an old group B aerial, now by it having only nine elements then its bound to have a wider pick up angle and something which is a good thing in most problem areas, but though by it being group B then its efficiency starts to tapers off above channel Ch53, not exactly the best when your problem channel is Ch60.

Nick,Woodbridge.I would strongly look up again single frequency interference concerning your long standing problem with the ArqA multiplex on frequency 60 from Sudbury. My suggestions for you to ponder would be Freesat,Virgin Media (Cable TV),Sky,diplexing your freeview aerial to receive an alternate ArqA from another main transmitter receivable at your location or just make do without an ArqA multiplex from Sudbury whatsoever.
As you rightfully say "Given Up" is precisely what i will do if i was in your shoes, and in my similar situation myself earlier concerning the elusively difficult ArqA and ArqB multiplexes on frequencies 53 and 60 respectively from Belmont in my location that is exacly what i have done,"Given Up" myself !

Thank you gentlemen.
There is no vcr causing problems.
What really annoys me, having found aerials that give me c60, which I have now installed finally on the roofs of two houses, and gave me 90 to 97% signal quality, is that the next day the quality has dropped below 30% and I can see nothing. Any ideas on this please?
My aerials are are large and high, designed for groups B and C. Whilst experimenting, I turned them to Tac and got all channels, wish I had left them there, but assumed that as Sudbury was the designated transmitter, I would get the most consistent signal from there.
