Kevin: If a manual tune shows no signal on C49 and C50 are you using a communal aerial? If so your landlord or housing management company will need to be contacted in order to make adjustments. If it is your own aerial check for single frequency interference from a VCR or Sky box with the RF modulator set to C49/50. Also try repositioning any aerial fly leads and HDMI cables in case there is any interaction with each other or the receiver.

Those of you who are not receiving a signal. Have you tried feeding your Freeview TV's/Boxes/Recorders by passing any boosters. If you are receiving a potentially good signal from your chosen transmitter or relay, a booster may be counting against your reception.

Give it a try.

tried to retune most of the day/night getting very weak signal on one set and no signal for bbc channels on two other sets aerial located on roof had no problems prior to to retune.I do have sky and can only use on set with sky.I feel that since we`ve had digital tha service has been awful regarding all the upgrades over 50years of analogue we never had these problems we had to get rid of good tv`s for the rubbish service we get now it must have cost the public millions for this

Is the set on C49 running at it's full power as in my Tv is refusing to lock on? The status bar when I try to retune manually keeps going from red to amber with the odd brief green showing the signal variable quality. I don't have any problems with the main channel 50 etc. BTW I live near Blackpool.

To Dave in Crewe...
I have a Samsung TV and I have had the welsh problem too, so try this...

Whatever the main TV aerial is connected to (either the TV itself or DVD,whatever.....disconnect it. Then using the TV Samsung remote, press `menu`, you should get a box come up with several options. Using the up and down keys, scroll down to the bottom one which should give you
the options `Guide`, `Digital Channel`, `Setup`, `Language`. Scroll over to the left and select `Setup`.

Select the relevant symbol on the left of that screen which gives you `Country`, `Auto Store`, `Manual Store`, `Edit Favourite Channels`,`Channel list`

Select `Auto Store`, when the next screen comes up, click Start (to update your list of channels)....NOTE! because you disconnected the aerial beforehand, this should delete all existing data, but do not worry. Let it run through and tell you to check the aerial (!) Ignore that.

Next; RECONNECT the aerial, then go back to the Manual Store option,...

If you`ve done this right you should be looking at a screen that - from left to right - has a highlighted number called `Channel`, then `Frequency` then `Bandwidth`.

It is the Channel number that you need, and the numbers you require are 50, 59, 54, 58,
49, and 55 which will give you the main terrestrial channels and the Freeview ones.
The most important one as far as you are concerned is 50, because that is now the home of the BBC group of stations after 10th April 2013.

In each case press OK to let the TV search through each set of numbers. Once thats done you are set!

Note! You will have to do this for EACH appliance you have connected to your TV, using its OWN remote.
SO in each case it is disconnect aerial, auto scan to delete, reconnect aerial, then manual scan.

This should avoid the Welsh stations problem you are having. Good Luck

Well for some reason, the frequency changes of 61 and 62 to 49 and 50 has completely knocked out my signals of Sutton Coldfield on 43 and 46.
I don't know why this should be the case as 49 and 50 aren't anywhere really that near to 43 and 46.
At least I can still get The Wrekin for the Midlands even if I can't get SC.
