Since switch over on 10/04/13 we have lost multiplex D3+4 signal completely and one television and signal patchy on another. DigitalUK no help. Are we alone on this one?

Adrian: If you are using a communal aerial and you are receiving from Saddleworth transmitter then the aerial system may need adjustment for the new D3&4 channel.

Thanks for the quick response Dave. We live 3 miles or so from the transmitter (we can see it through our window), we have a wideband aerial in our attic space, with a splitter to two sets. This was fine until one week ago. I have been realigning the aerial this morning to no real effect.

Sorry Dave, to clarify, what do you mean by 'the aerial system may need adjustment'? Cheers

Adrian: Some communal systems are fitted with filters so as to only allow through (from the aerial) the channels used by the desired transmitter. Thus, as D3&4 now uses C39 which hasn't been used before it may now be filtered out.

Could you change to using another transmitter such as Winter Hill?

Might your issue be interference from Moel-y-Parc, which is the transmitter in Wales that overspills to a large area of the North West?

Thanks Dave, we don't have a communal system, just our straightforward aerial in the attic. Funnily enough we live on the brow of a hill in Mossley which appears to be in the shadow of the transmitter at Winter hill and north wales. The saddleworth transmitter appears to be the relay. I cannot tune channel 59 (winter hill) and don't believe the wales transmitter is the problem. It appears that the saddleworth changes affected ch 49 and 39 which is now causing the reception problem.

Adrian: If you are attempting to tune to Winter Hill then obviously your aerial may require turning as well as switching it from vertical polarisation to horizontal polarisation.

The PSB channels of Moel-y-Parc and Saddleworth are the same, albeit that they use opposite polarisation.

Dave Lindsay: In fact, all six channels are the same from both transmitters, albeit that Moel-y-Parc's COMs are half power to its PSBs.

Dave, I trust when you mean reversing the polarity you mean flipping it 90 degrees?

Adrian: Yes.

For Saddleworth it should be vertical and for Winter Hill it should be horizontal:
