Pat Bowyer: The transmitter has no reported problems, and certainly 10 days would be a very long time for a fault to go unnoticed.

We dont know your position in relation to the transmitter, so we have no idea what your signal should be like (put your postcode into the site to bring up various links). However:

1) check your tuned to that transmitter - if your tuned to another one far away, then the signal might be too bad to get ITV.

2) check signal strength. Too high is as bad as too low. If its low, then check the wires and connections.

Your neighbours might have a problem, but it might not be the same problem, or the same cause. So you need to check each possibility.

We have been unable to receive any of the BBC channels this evening. Picture pixelated and sound broken up.
All other channels are fine.
Have reset the channel settings to no avail.
What is the problem?

Heny Bendell: Given that there are no faults showing for the transmitter, the most likely cause is a fault with your aerial system. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections? Retuning will never fix a weak signal as all you are doing is deleting your correctly tuned channels and searching for them again.

Yesterday afternoon the bbc.and hd channels started breaking up. Itv, 4 and 5 ok. A check showed excellent signal strength on all channels but very high error rates on bbc. This morning the problem has extended to all channels. Retuning made no difference.

David Boyd: I see some engineering work is being done on the transmitter. Could that be the problem? I have searched high and low for an email address to contact about the pixilation. Failed to find one. Anyone know the correct email to contact?

Gary Cox :
Hi. Thanks for that (also David) but they'd better hurry up if the intention is to finish today given that reception is still bad so presumably the engineering work is still ongoing.

We've been having the same problems as others over the past couple of days: high signal strength but low signal quality affecting all channels, but BBC and HD channels are worse.

Are other people still seeing the same problems?
