Pat: There have been no changes announced for Talking Pictures on Freeview. The move you refer to is Talking Pictures moving to a new channel number on Sky and does not affect Freeview or Freesat.

I assume that Talking Pictures TV is now generally available to everybody using Freeview?.
I have a Panasonic DVD recorder ( actual DVD burning, not hard drive)
It can only receive and record standard definition Freeview signals, with Talking Pictures clearly showing on the EPG., and I recorded a part of a film to a DVD-R.

As I mentioned just now, Talking Pictures should now be available to everyone after a retune.
The terrestrial transmitter I use is Stockland Hill, Devon.
What annoys me most of all is the lack of listings for the channe!. "What's On TV" & "TV Choice" will not list it because ( they say) it doesn't have the viewer numbers to list it!
Obviously Radio Times thinks it has, as it the only listings magazine which does think that two million viewers is enough!

MikeB: My Panasonic DVD recorder has an SD only function, and an SD EPG.
Talking Pictures TV is watchable and I have recorded to DVD films from Talking Pictures from the Stockland Hill Transmitter. It is no longer a requirement to have an HD TV., though it's hard to find a TV without that now.

Mike Chenery: that's very strange, since I understood that Talking Pictures was only available with an HD tuner. Still, if you can get it, there you go.

There are very good reasons for not being able to buy a TV without an HD tuner.

MikeB: Talking Pictures moved to COM6 back in November, so a HD (DVB-T2) tuner has not been required for a few months now.

StevensOnln1: That explains it!

To be honest, I hadn't bothered watching it for a while, so I hadn't realised it had even changed.

I live in Northumberland in NE20. I don't seem able to pick up the Talking Pictures channel on my TV. I have an HD TV with Freeview and Sky. Why?
