Rachel James: If its on the mast, its most likely an aircraft warning light.

We have had a report that next to the Church Stretton Hazler Hill mast there was a metal box of some kind which contained wires etc. This has been smashed up and left in situ. Who can I report this to to get it removed please?

Mike : I am convinced the signal from Hazler transmitter has been very poor for the past couple of months, giving both breaking up picture and sound. This site always says no problems with the transmitter and yet the signal definitely is no way as good as it used to be.

Derek: Check your system first - there are 2000 homes served by that transmitter, and if there had been a serious problem for a long time, you would expect a lot of complaints.

But your system is much more likely to be at fault, perhaps a dodgy cable or loose connection. If your not getting the full range of channels you expect, then thats likely. And check your tuned into that transmitter.

hi we live in Church Stretton and use the Hazler Transmitter. since Sunday the 20 th January 2019 we have had either no signal or the picture breaks up on all BBC programmes, all other channels seem to be OK. I have done all the tests mentioned on our Freeview Box etc. Still no good., according to the report there is nothing wrong with the transmitter so why is it just all BBC programmes that we can't receive ?
Please could you suggest what is causing this problem. thank you.

G Tarr:

Please check all your aerial cables and connections. Unplug all the coaxial connections and refit them to clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts as that is a common cause of that type of problem.
