Keith: Hi, Keith. The 'ukdigitalradio' website shows that you should get a good signal for R5 Sports Extra on DAB in Huntingdon, so, first of all, I'd suggest that you carry out a full re-tune of the DAB radio part of your Bush microsystem. These systems don't have a brilliant aerial for the DAB radio part, so make sure the aerial is fully outstretched and is vertical (going straight up and down) before doing the full re-tune. After carrying out the re-tune there should be a list of stations available. R5 Sports Extra should be on the list and this is where you select it from to tune into it. If you get a bubbling mud sound, this means that your signal is too weak, so then try positioning the equipment upstairs and near an open window. Richard, Norwich.

Angela Thompson: Having just checked with 'Digital UK', Harrow is definitely within the coverage area for the Crystal Palace main full Freeview transmitter and so the questions I would ask would refer to your aerial installation. Is it pointing towards Crystal Palace, to your East-South-East? Is it in good condition and less than ten years old? Is the cabling from the aerial and into the house all in good condition? Is there a good connection between the cable coming down the wall and the back of the wall plate to which it connects? Is there a good connection from the wall plate to the fly lead which goes from the wall plate / aerial socket to your set top box? By the way, why did you buy a new set-top box when you could have bought a brand new Freeview tv for the same money? When you say, "it won't even install, do you mean that the new box will not carry out a first-time installation tune in procedure? Obviously, if there is no signal coming down from your aerial, you'll not receive any television whatever box you try to use, so check you aerial installation as the next step. Richard, Norwich.

Angela Thompson: Harrow is in green on Brian's UKFree TV coverage map for Crystal Palace. It is Harlow, with an 'l' in Essex which is in a grey patch area for Crystal Palace coverage! Richard.

Angela Thompson: Be careful when you try your boxes at your friend's because if she's on Crystal Palace, your boxes will still 'think they're on Hemel Hempstead because they'll remember that they were last used at your house. You can, of course, do a 'first-time installation', type of retune with the aerial lead disconnected at any time in order to get your boxes to forget the channels they stored last and where they were from. Richard, Norwich.

Richard Cooper:Sorry, Angela, I meant to say 'he' as your friend is male. Wealdstone is pretty definitely Crystal Palace, although I said the same about Harrow!!! Good Luck! Richard.

Hi, Brian (Briantist). Your Transmitter engineering info for Hemel Hempstead DAB today is appearing on the Hemel Hempstead Full Freeview web page instead of its DAB page. Probably a simple enough glitch for you to sort! Richard, Norwich.

Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) transmitter

JohnFleming: Hi, John. I'm pleased to inform you that there are no reported problems on the Craigkelly transmitter this morning. Check your barometer for high pressure and also check your aerial lead connections for tightness and good contacts, but be careful not to 'overtighten' them, because just like overwound clocks, overtightening coaxial plugs can do more harm than good. Richard, Norwich.

CBS Drama
Saturday 10 September 2016 9:36AM

J T Webster: Hi Jay Tee. a good check would be to see whether you can receive any other channels that are on multiplex 'COM 7'. See if you can get anything on channels numbered: 77 (Rishtey Europe), 78 (5USA+1) and 81 (Talking Pictures TV). If you can, then you ought to be able to get CBS Drama on 71. If you wish and your receiver allows you to, you could do a manual tune just for COM7. To do that, you need to know thatCOM7 is transmitted on UHF channel number 31 from Wenvoe at a frequency of 554 MHz, and then manually tune into that channel. In that manner, you will pick up everything on COM 7 that is available at your location, including, hopefully, CBS Drama. Remember that COM 7 is transmitted at a slightly lower power than the other multiplexes, which could be the reason for your inability to receive all of the channels on that particular multiplex. Richard, Norwich.

Peter: Hi, Peter in Martham. This is Richard in Norwich. There was a recent change in the arrangement of commercial radio stations on Freeview digital tv. Magic is now on the COM6 or Arq B multiplex which is on UHFTV channel 39 from the Tacolneston tv transmitter. I had to do a retune to get it again after the recent change. I was able to do a 'manual tune' on channel 39. See if you can do a manual tune like this too because it prevents you from losing other channels which haven't been moved. For your info, my radio channels list is now as follows:-
700 to 710 BBC 'National' stations,
711 The Hits Radio, 712 KISS FRESH, 713 KISS, 714 KISSTORY, 716 heat, 717: Kerrang! 718: Smooth Radio, 719: BBC Radio Norfolk, 720: BBC Radio Suffolk, 721: BBC Radio London, 722 BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, 723: talkSPORT, 724: Capital FM, 725:Premier Radio, 726:---------------------, 727: Absolute Radio, 728:Heart,729: nothing, 730: RNIB Connect, 731: Classic FM, 732: LBC, and 734: BBC Essex, and that's the end of my list. Note that I only have an SD tv, so if there are any more stations on the HD multiplexes I can't get them on my tv. Hope this helps, Richard in Norwich.
