Several years ago I wrote to the relevamnt department in Dublin requeting details of licencing and regulation of BSKYB who had been targeting the Irish market for sales of their products. There is no recors of any parlimentry debate regardding their entry into the Irish market.I have received neither a reply or an acknowledgement of my request. So if they are goin g to plunder and distort our market we have the right to do the same with their products.Get licensed and regulated and pay vat to the Irish Government BSKYB and do the decent honourable thing.Pay the vat on the 600,00 subscriptions to the Irish Government,we are tired of being exploited.

Good for you Michael, somebody needs to let Bskyb know that you are no longer prepared to pay their ripoff prices. They will overcharge you as long as you are willing to pay. Make sure that your phone is not hacked.

Live sport, film channels can be sold much cheaper by sky in other Eurppean markets. Why are British and Irish suscribers charged much more?Canal+ charges £20/month for all premium and basic packages.Sky has the highest market share in all of Europe yet think nothing of ripping off its customers.

Bskyb have to pay the bpremier league huge sums of money for exclusive rights to their dubious product. This unregulated and unlicensed body in Ireland have sought to dictate to us that we may use their services for viewing football at their ripoff prices. We in Ireland will choose whose services we use to use when we like.No external predator will take that right from us. S ny sky rep is welcome in to an Irish pub to view Premier League matches, pleasr have proof of license and regulation of your ripoff product if you wish to make a case why we should believe in better.Inotice that basic package, phone and broadband is being offered for less than £20 in Britain by Sky,what is the price of basic pakage on its own, possibly £10/month.

SKY have done a deal with rte so that suscribers in Ireland North and South can only receive satellite reception of Irish tv channels by suscribing to a sky basic package. Other Irish tv channels are included also TV3,TG4 and 3e.TG4 is a mixture of Gaelic and English.Satellite reception of Irish tv in commercial premises abroad generates huge business.A domestic subscripton of 300 euro covers 12 months.

RTE coverage of Champions League and international football is blocked to Sky suscribers in Northern Ireland. Also some American tv producers insisted that some of their programmes be blocked.RTE is cash straped and could never afford to broadcast via satellite. Sky saw a huge marketing opportunity in providing same.No details about the deal other than it was a win win deal for both parties according to a Sky spokesman.Sky also facilitated private company TV3which also owns 3e.TV3 does not have good terrestial coverage due to cost.

I was abroad in Europe for a week.Irish pubs have Sky Sports,Sky will be pleased to know that the pint glass does appear on the screen, meaning that the domestic rate is being paid. Many non Irish premises also have Sky Sports at the domestic rate. Two Rangers fans oin holiday were so anxious to see Rangers v Hearts game last Saturday that they did so in an Irish pub. They were treated to the tradional Irish hospitaly and told that they would always be welcome.

Les,Sky Sports can only be accessed abroad by obtaining a domestic subscription for an Irish or UK address. The publican uses this in his licensed premises.People in France and Spain have to be begged to take pay tv,hence the low domestic rate25 Euro/month with freebees thrown in.French andSpanish people do not have the same desire to have access to Sport on tv.Stadia in France on the last day of the season were 1/3 full.

Sky cannot act as if these were premises in the UK.Factors to be considered, the willingness of law enforcement to get involved, accomodating tourists from Britain and Ireland who contribute to the economy, connections with town hall.Local tv companies avail of Sky to provide cable tv for Irish holiday makers.Skys entry into the Irish market was not licensed or regulated. No vat is paid to the Irish government for Irish subcriptions by Sky,so a company who indulges such practises can expect to be ripped off. They have offered a price freeze to Irish suscribers until end of 08/2013,also Espn is being offered free with Sky Sports.Sky have a lot of yet unresolved issues in Ireland, let them come on and try to bully us as they do to people in Britain, over to you SKY.

Is this an attempt by BSKYB to raise money to finance another campaign of harrassment agaist the publicans of Britain?
