Aldeburgh (Suffolk, England) Freeview Light transmitter | free

Bill Mackintosh:

ARQB from Sudbury (assuming that is where the customer currently gets their signal from), is at very low power at the moment and will be until next summer. The other possible problem is that if the aerial is quite old, it might still be a group B type,
and given that ARQB is currently on CH63, this is out of band for such an aerial. Many other people who receive from Sudbury appear to be having problems with ARQB at the moment. I know this doesn't really help your customer right now, but if they are prepared to wait until next June, there is a good chance that the problem will be resolved.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) Full Freeview transmitte

Gee:

Some things to check.

Do you have nearby trees/tall bushes between you and the Sutton Coldfield transmitter? If they are being blown into line of your signal when windy, this could be the problem. Rain can also cause the problem as it can increase the attenuation of the signal.

Secondly, when windy, is your aerial stable or does it blow about in the wind? Again a possible cause of the problem.

Lastly, a damaged connection between the aerial and the downlead may be allowing rain to enter the downlead and cause shorting, which again affects the signal.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter

John Procter:

Because you are so close to Emley Moor (a high power transmitter), you would probably get good reception using a wire coathanger!

Hope this helps,
Adam.

I'm afraid the TV does not have an HD tuner built in. If you go to the Tesco website to see this model, go down to the description info, and click on the tap marked features, and you will se that for Freeview HD it says NO.

Julie Whitby:

If you currently get fairly decent analogue reception, then you won't need to change your aerial for digital.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Sorry, or make any cabling changes!

Russ:

I would stick with what you've got, as you have currently no realistic prospect of getting terrestrial digital TV due to terrain issues.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Karl:

You can use either of the cables coming out of the dish to plug into your Sky box. The second lead is for another satellite box or a box with record facillity, such boxes requiring two connections.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

A.M. P.M.:

If you mean the temporary HD mux, this will stay until 18th April, so there will be no break in HD services. If you mean the old MUXB, this will also stay until the 18th, as it carries Sky Sports 1 and 2. At switchover, those two channels will move to the COM6 multiplex.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Briantist:

Loving the new transmitter coverage maps. Knowing the terrain of South and Mid Beds as I do, the new maps are extremely accurate and therefore very useful.

Good work Brian!

Adam.
