Des Collier, Briantist: The real joy of having multiple aerials back in the 70s was for films and the Sunday afternoon football. Here in Sheffield, depending in which part of the city you live, you can receive Belmont, Bilsdale, Emley Moor and Waltham. Yorkshire TVs main match on their Sunday highlights show would regularly feature L**ds. But one of the other regions might be showing a 4-4 thriller.
I seem to recall uproar in Lincolnshire back in 1974 when Yorkshire TV was allocated to Belmont replacing Anglia TV. I think it was all to do with the government messing about with boundaries. I know I wasn't pleased.

John Gleeson: I couldn't agree more. After using Ceefax daily for more than 20 years I too now miss it. I was wondering (Briantist/Mike) if the Bilsdale analogue service will continue with Ceefax until it switches next September? Or maybe the BBC will pull the Ceefax plug when Crystal Palace switches? Being able to receive Bilsdale means, if I'm sad enough, I could set up an aerial just for a Ceefax fix. I know, I need to get out more!

Briantist/Nigel: What's the latest on being able, or not as seems to be the case, to receive Radio Caroline on a Sky HD box? e? It certainly doesn't work on my box and looking around the net, one of the reasons given is that the 11428 frequency is not used by any Sky services and there's a (deliberate?) bug in the software to prevent one tuning to that frequency. Caroline are playing my top fifteen this coming Wednesday and it would have been nice to record it on the Sky box, assuming that it allows you to record stuff from Other Channels. I can't test that right now as my other half is watching the TV! Fortunately, I have a Freesat TV, a non generic satellite receiver and a DVD recorder which will do the business.
