Is it correct that Digital 3 and 4 (D3&4) expires in 2022?
That's only 3 years away for every one to get a new TV if they want to watch ITV, Channel 4 or Five.
As most or all relays can only get BBCA and D3&4 if they don't have a HD TV then they will lose all TV except the BBC channels.

We will still need Freeview in 2042

"5G will have replaced Freeview Light at repeater sites."
Then many will replace the TV licence fee with not paying the licence fee.

Film 4 +1
Friday 22 November 2019 5:29PM

Film4 +1 and More4 +1 have been removed from the PSB multiplexes a weeks or two ago.
Dose any one know if they will add any new channels to replace them or are they shrinking the size of PSB multiplexes to make more room for more mobile phones?

I can't work out how Virgin has less than zero homes owners.
Perhaps it's so expensive, they can't afford to have a home and Virgin media!

CBBC
Sunday 7 March 2021 5:56AM

It has been announced that BBC Three is to return to TV next year. (Announced in February 2021)
BBC Three shared the same space as CBBC and was was on air from 7:00pm when CBBC shutdown.
As CBBC now shuts down at 9pm and not 7pm, does anybody know if;
BBC Three will now start at 9pm
or CBBC will end and BBC Three will start at 7pm
or from 7pm to 9pm one channel will be on HD only and one on normal definition only.
or some other channel will move from the PSB multiplex (BBCA)
(Message posted on CBBC page as link to BBC Three link removed when BBC Three closed)

The same program on BBC1 (With the exception of local news for 15 minutes), BBC2, BBC News and BBC Parliament.
BBC4 shutdown and bandwidth not used! Why?
If they only had it on BBC1 and BBC News, I would be watching that channel, but I'm sure some lots of people would like some more choice.

BBC London
Wednesday 28 July 2021 6:20PM

BBC national and local station streams changed to BBC - Home earlier this year from http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.…f_p.
All the local stations (Radio London, Radio Sussex, etc) have stopped working. With just a repeating message saying the current program is unavailable due to a technical fault.
BBC - Home /bbc_london

Does anybody know the new stream address or are they closing down the Internet version and want us to onlyh use iPlayer.
Also does "BBC World Service News" still exist, as I can only find BBC World Service stream and not both.

BBC - Home /bbc_world_service = BBC World Service (UK) New stream.
http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.n…ieuk = BBC World Service (UK) Old stream.
http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.n…inws = BBC World Service (News) Old stream.

All free TV channels in the UK

Sky uses a satellite system. You can use the dish to receive Sky (Paid), Free Sat from Sky (FSFS) (Free service using a Sky box) or Freesat.
Freesat is different from Freeserve.
Freeserve uses land transmitters to receive TV.

So no you can't use a satellite dish with Freeserve, but you can buy a Freesat box and use that.

Sky = Pay for box and pay monthly for the TV channels. Biggest number of stations.
Free Sat from Sky = One off payment for the box (And dish if you don't have one)
Freesat = One off payment for the box (And dish if you don't have one)
Freeserve = No cost except for the box/TV and TV license. (4 or more multiplexes)
Freeserve from relay = No cost except for the box/TV and TV license. (Only 3 multiplexes) Least number of stations.

Reading between the lines it seams to only be on satellite.
Freeserve will still have no HD local programs.
