ROY BARTON=

If you use a group A aerial and avoid using an amplifier you should not have issues with 4G

ROY BARTON-

There is no reason to combine a HP and VP signal, although they are received differently they are outputting reception on exactly the same UHF settings.

Thus all you will be actually doing is combining 2 identical signals.

Have you lost HD on all equipment or just one?

Is your aerial Wideband or Group A

If it is a Wideband you should get it changed as Rowridge is a Group A transmitter, HD is transmitted on UHF 21 which is the first frequency for TV reception, although a Wideband aerial does work from settings 21-68 they actually perform better at the higher end of the spectrum, therefore it can sometimes be difficult to receive the HD reception from a Wideband aerial being used on a Group A transmitter.

Freeview works differently to Freesat.

If your sat dish is aligned correctly all receptions will work.

Freeview is different in the fact that you have 6 UHF settings which your aerial is receiving the TV channels, all TV channels are split over these 6 settings, if 1 setting is working correctly then all the channels on that setting will work, if a setting is not being received correctly then you will have missing channels or pixilation on those channels.

Getting all 6 UHF settings working correctly relies on the antenna being in good condition, good condition cable and most importantly the antenna located in the correct part of the building, not always the highest point, sometimes even a few feet left or right can make a difference in receiving reception.

There are a few reasons which could give you this issue.

1. the cable or connections to the problem receiver has an issue.

2. the receiver itself has an issue.

3. all of the system has an issue, the reason I give this issue is that all equipment reacts differently to reception, so if your signal is not very good you could have one box that can still handle showing channels with poor reception but another box not showing the channels. I commonly find Sony TV showing channels with a reception so poor that no other brand can display any channels.

S Wilson.

There are many things that would cause your issues.

1. problem with tv aerial

2. problem with tv cable from aerial

3. problem with distribution unit

4. problem with connections

5. problem with tv tuner

6. too much signal

7. not enough signal

far to many issues to guess which one is your issue without fully testing the system.

Are there more than one tv on the system, and if so do the others have the same issue, if they do then you can take issue 5 off your list.

If you have no other TV's then try a digi box.

Then try a new cable

then try a new aerial

Or just call a local engineer who should do a system test for FREE if they are nice :)

If you system signal is marginal then you will notice issues during hot periods.

You will also have the same effect if you have too much signal.

If your system is outside and 20 years plus in age then you may consider having an upgrade.

If your issues are the same on multiple tvs then the issue will definitely lie with the system.

If the issue is on just one tv then you could look at replacing the cable to that one outlet.

If your system was in tip top condition then you would be less likely to notice issues in the changes of weather :)

The transmitter works may have only be a coincidence and actually the issues could be due to the heat and your system being vulnerable with regards to its signal quality.

The quality of the signal that you are receiving is far more important the strength.
