Martin:

Hi,

Although not familiar with pc tv tuners I do regularly come across this issue.

It is generally down to the age of the equipment and the age of the software.

equipment around 4/5 years old tend to struggle with this issue.

If you cant update the software you may need to change the tuner.

Sky are updating software on stbs in October, this update will take away the option to turn off/on rf2.

Does anybody know if this will make the rf2 permanently ON or OFF??????

This could affect everyone that uses a magic eye!

With regards to 4g interference, this would only be an issue if you are in direct line of sight of a transmitter or use an amplifier on the system.

Given that you have been getting issues for the past 6 months you system or equipment is probably to blame.

If you aerial has degraded too much or cabling is too old this could also cause problems.

systems do not last forever.

More information will be need on the type of system you currently have, location of aerial, type of aerial, age of aerial and cables, etc

MEL.

Hi, I am an installer local to you and know your location well.

It is very good for reception, so there must be something wrong with either the aerial, the cabling, the tv or if the aerial feeds multiple rooms it could be the splitter/amp.

If you don't get a resolve and want a free assessment the please contact me.

I am an approved RDI installer.

Helen Belcham:

Once you stop being a customer of sky you will NOT be able to use the record functions.

You can either apply to sky for a Freesat card for your box which is about £30, however you need to buy these whenever they change the setup! :)

Or, your best option would be to buy a Freesat recorder box, ie HUMAX and be totally free from any company.

HI,

When transmitter work is taking place it will only be minor disruption for minimal time but can be frequent.

Total loss of signal for a long period may well be down to your aerial system.

BT are only responsible for providing the equipment ie Youview box, NOT the reliability of your aerial system, this is down to you to maintain.

What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or &

Stevier:

If you are connecting a sky box to an areal (aerial) then that is your problem, you should be connecting to a dish.

If you are connecting to a dish then you should get a professional to align it as even 2mm out will give you NO SIGNAL.

If the reception is perfect then you have a duff box.

Bradley:

retuning your tv never fixes problems with reception.

If there are issues with signal then a retune will simply delete channels from the tv memory.

Your transmitter is showing no faults so there may be a problem with your system.

If you have more than 1 tv are all of them having problems.

If you only have 1 tv is there a booster on the system possibly causing problems.

Other than these you could have an issue with your aerial or cable. These never last forever.

Your signal quality must be marginal as you are having issues during the night.

you need to provide more info for help.

1. how many rooms running off aerial
2. aerial location
3. aerial age
4. cable age
5. professionally fitted or diy
