C and H White: Your best bet for the TV is to go to menu > setup > tuning menu and then auto setup. If that doesn't work try menu > setup and then try to find "shipping conditions" or factory settings.

Rob: Some boxes have had problems tuning in both HD muxes, especially those using a Vestel chipset. Try doing a retune/first time installation with the aerial out, then manually tuning in the normal 6 muxes (not sure if you're using Crystal Palace or Haddington) using the manual retune option - do not tune in the COM7 mux!

See if that works, and if it does, then you probably need the software update that has came out for the Vestel boxes.

John H Williams: Well the commercial broadcasters can't afford to put the extra 3 multiplexes on the 1000 relay transmitters in the country, so the situation isn't going to change.

John Webster: Wait, you had the same problem with the same setup at a previous address? As in, sky box + cabling + TV? If so I'd be looking at interference in that setup - remove the Sky everything else bar the TV+aerial connection and see what happens.

Could also be solved by moving the aerial with the signal information menu up on the screen, to see if that makes any difference - it did for me with my loft aerial on the ArqB mux, it's always been lower strength than others but moving the aerial got it up to a good enough level.

Charles Stainsby: You've probably enabled Audio Decription, look for an AD button on your remote.

John Smith: Put his postcode into the top right corner of this site, and then click on "DigitalUK tradeview" when the 6 boxes come up in the top right - you'll see if he's predicted to get the "L-LON" mux or not.

If he is predicted to get it, it could be that he has an aerial pointed at the Hemel Hempstead transmitter just north of him, which is obviously the opposite direction from Crystal Palace. And even if he did turn the aerial, it may be a group B aerial and not able to pick up a good enough signal on UHF channel 29.

I think the London Live website has a live stream on it, see if he can access that.

Joan Mackavoy: Get on with your life, both channels have ceased broadcasting.

Tom: Looking at the DigitalUK tradeview link on the side of your post, it doesn't seem like you can get anything more than the PSB channels, aka Freeview light (that's why the Findon transmitter is there).

MotorsTV is available FTA on Sky with a viewing card though, so if you really want it you can get an old Sky box and viewing card from Sky (aka Freesat from Sky). A lot of the content is available on the internet as well, depending on what you want to watch (WEC, ELMS, Blancpain, TUSC).

Ken Keen: What is the make and model of the TV/box? Some equipment had problems with the COM7 mux basically wiping out all HD channels, which sounds like your problem.

You should do a first time installation/auto scan with the aerial out to clear all of the channels, then do a manual scan for all channels EXCEPT the COM7 HD mux on UHF 32 - so that's 47, 44, 41, 51, 52, 48 and 56.

Mark Morris: Not really sure what point you're trying to make. Any Freeview HD certified equipment will pick up the com7/8 muxes if they are fed the signal from an aerial. The only spare frequencies were in the UHF 31-37 range, so unfortunately at some transmitters it will be out of group (Pontop Pike) or at some it will be in group (Bilsdale) - both available from your postcode. And anyway, 6 of the HD channels are available from all transmitters.
