Anyone else having trouble with Witehawk Hill / Mux2 (e.g. ITV1, C4, C5) since yesterday?

Clare: Whitehawk Mux2 (ITV1, C4 etc.) has been occasionally dodgy here (BN1 5) for many moons, although not too bad in the last few months. We're holding our breaths that the switchover next month will greatly increase the signal!

Simon: How high are you in the block? Since the power output was increased in the switchover, maybe you coud try an aerial in your flat to tide you over?

Simon: Also, have you considered everything in the 'Freeview intermittent interference' link below? You may be getting interference that for some reason wasn't a problem before.

And any chance you could try your tuner or TV in one of the unaffected flats, i.e. do a partial 'swap' test?

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to this forum, Briantist, and whoever first wrote the tip about leaving the aerial disconnected until half way through an Auto Setup!

Had a very strange situation with my neighbour's newish JVC set, where BBC1 and some other channels were 100% OK, but BBC2 and ITV1 would disappear after a second or two of switching to them. Tried reducing the signal, but it didn't seem to be a too much / too little signal prob.

Did yet another retune, ths time with the aerial out until 50%, and lo and behold everything happy! (So presumbly the set was confused between Whitehawk and Rowridge.)

This wasn't needed with 6 or more other local sets/Freeview tuners.

How did we manage before the web...

Simon: Can you stop the periodic retunes?

If so, you could try the trick mentioned before here, namely unplugging the aerial for the first half of the channel scan (i.e. the first half of the frequencies scanned). At about 50% plug the aerial in again and cross your fingers.

Hope this helps,
Jim
