Briantist: Yes, but that was an accident, rather than a true cockup. You made me smile however with your joke about the Member for Witney! It does seem that Hannington is having problems as there are widespread reports of analogue problems (and I am assuming that the analogues are transmitted from the new antenna system, per the mb21 web site photos) and people can't get BBCA. I have multiple systems and DVB-T2 autoretuning boxes: they are showing nothing from Hannington, just CP. Will keep you posted. BTW your site is a true public service.

Its just been reported on another forum that there are antenna problems at Hannington and ALSO there is a screen shot from a spectrum analyser showing how weak the E45 signal is. As you say stay tuned.

Briantist: There are several interesting comments from the trade on other forums confirming antenna phasing problems at the moment.

Briantist: There has been a partial restoration of the analogue signal but no sign of BBCA in many areas. More after lunch.

NOTE: LCN ordering will require manual retunes now in overlap areas with London.

Briantist: Cela depende, even with the latest T2 receivers. The Humax T2 boxes put BBC1 South in LCN1 irrespective of whether you select London or North Hampshire and Berkshire regions, Philips SD boxes shunt Hannington down to the 800s, as do Sony STBs and various Sony Tvs handle matters differently. Theory and signal strength practice are two different matters. I'll let you know how the Sharp T2 box handles mixed high power signals tomorrow when I have more time.

To recap, 50 miles from Hannington in NW London using a Fracarro Sigma antenna in the loft and 28dB variable gain Vision Masthead coupled to a full IRS with external CP, quattro LNB satellite:

BBCA E45:

C/N: 24dB

Signal Strength: 95%

Quality: 100%

Result! But confusing for consumers from here on in...

Briantist: The Humax T2 boxes don't deal properly with multiple regions. You have to manually overtune as it were to fix this problem...
