Sirs,

is the D3+4 multiplex, at Crystal Palace, unmdergoing something mechanical ? The signal from this multiplex fails repeatedly and fouls my Alba TV, when I can reach it. Is this multiplex set too high or low ?

I have had this problem since full switchover (DSO).

Mr Fletcher,

when my picture fails, I am using a loft aerial and the signal strength goes so near to zero that my screen pixellates. BBC and Radio transmissions are fine, but, everything from D3+4 is shot. And no, a fully external aerial is not an option- I lodge.

Have found out that a nearby bloke is a radio ham. This is a known source of interference, so have ordered a DTI (digital TV interference) filter, from Amazon- this should remove all ham and possibly taxi radio signals. Many thanks for your help, Mark.

James,

in Ashford, I am gforced to use the HH transm itter as my aerial is fixed verticvally (Crystal Palace needs a horizontal one). My reception from HH is OK, but, the ArqivaB multiplex is unreachable- not essential but an annoying glitch. Is there a plan to ramp up the actual power this multiplex ?

Sirs,

I have found that the addition of a High Pass Filter, to ones aerial wire can vastly improve reception. It does this by cutting out the transmissions from cab radios, radio hams and generalUHF interference. Obviously, the signal strength reaching your TV is affected but inbuilt amplifiers can take care of that. A real pleasure to watch with one of these fitted.

Is the CP transmitter currently undergoing servicing or something. The signal in TW15 is terrible for a London transmitter. And, before you suggest it, I have had good to fair reception, before. Do I need an attenuator for a too high signal strength or is the signal just lousy ?

Steve:

I find that a 4g filter applied to your aeriel regain s most of the missing channels, but, still cannot reach Dave or PickTV and several others. A 4G mast is close , yet I cannot understand why only some of Ch 22 is now affecrted. Work on the transmitter ?

Mike: I have checked and TW15 is slap in the middle of a nest of 4G phone masts. As my reception for various channels (mainly 25 and 26), from Crystal Palace, is so bad, despite a 4G filter, I wonder if this transmitter is undergoing repairs. Alternatively, is there any additional software or gizmo, that I could add to my aeriel or TV ?
