What is in store for the next round of BBC Radio cuts?

Totally agree that the Government should restore payment to the BBC for funding the BBC World Service radio.

Funding this service, from the licence fee, is like a stealth tax on all licence payers and deprives the BBC of much needed cash to run its domestic radio and television services.

The paying public had no say in this funding matter of the World Service and politics aside, the Government action is tantamount to a raid.

What is in store for the next round of BBC regional TV cuts?

Does anybody know what percentage of our Licence Fee actually is received by the BBC.
The Government has, apparently, discontinued funding the BBC World Service radio and instructed the BBC to pay for this service, from our Licence payments---so less cash for the BBC to spend on our DOMESTIC radio and television services.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that part of the Licence Fee would be used to develop Broadband in parts of the UK.
What next---some of the Licence Fee to pay for road potholes?? The Government seem to be using the Licence AS A STEALTH TAX.

I have a relative, in Portugal, and asked her, during our weekly telephone conversation, how was the Portuguese state radio and television broadcaster (RTP---Radio Television Portugal) funded.

Although I have not verified her response, she said that an additional charge, for this, is added to Electricity bills., on the basis that the majority of homes etc. have radio and television sets.

I have seen RTP television broadcasts, when in Portugal and noticed some of the RTP channels also show adverts.
