anne: The only unusual thing I can see about RT is the mapped MHEG stream for IP-TV.

These all have the stream mapped to them:

ITV HD
Wednesday 26 March 2014 5:18PM

Two more ITV HD regional variants were added to Freesat today.
Identified by the local news they carry, they are ITV HD Central and ITV HD Meridian.
These, together with ITV HD Granada and ITV HD London, bring the total to four.

All free TV channels in the UK
Tuesday 24 June 2014 2:42PM

Channel 5 HD is now on LCN 105 with Channel 5 on 171 (on HD boxes) in some BSkyB regions, identified by the BBC One regional variant:

BBC One W Mid
BBC One West
BBC One South
BBC One S West
BBC One S East
BBC One East E
BBC One Oxford
BBC One CI
BBC One Wales

This change seems to imply Channel 5 HD is FTV again. Can anyone confirm?

Channel 5 (UK) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"In October 2013, Channel 5 HD became a subscription channel on the Sky satellite platform. Previously, it was available as a free-to-view channel, but is now only available to Sky 'Family Bundle' customers or those with the HD pack."

I see FSFS has been expunged from ukfree.tv anyway.

MikeB: Some background from digitaluk:
"Split NIT
In summer 2008, Freeview and the digital multiplex operators (DMOL) updated the network due to the introduction of many more services since the launch of the platform. This required the Network Information Table (NIT) to be split to carry more data. Early products with insufficient memory or that need to reattribute memory subsequently stop working."

I can't prove it was the cause, and have only examined the North West NIT, but ...

On 03/09/2014 the NIT was expanded from two to three sections [see note].

North West NIT, 2014-09-16 10:25, version_number = 20

section_number = 0
section_length = 752
section_number = 1
section_length = 947
section_number = 2
section_length = 382

By 18/09/2014 the NIT had shrunk back to two sections by removal of extraneous data.

North West NIT, 2014-09-18 10:55, version_number = 21

section_number = 0
section_length = 897
section_number = 1
section_length = 1014

This descriptor was removed:
descriptor_name = extension descriptor
descriptor_length = 155
descriptor_tag_hex = 7F
descriptor_tag_extension = 8
message_descriptor

[A Section is a syntactic structure used for mapping Service Information tables into Transport Stream packets. Sections may be variable in length. The sections within each table are limited to 1024 bytes in length, except for sections within the EIT which are limited to 4096 bytes.]

Chris Meadows: May be a memory problem. I would try a reset followed by a manual scan of a single multiplex to see if the problem remains. What box/telly is it? The more information the better.

Gary: Is that the result with a single multiplex scanned in?

When did the problem appear?
What frequency or UHF channel did you scan.
What were the displayed signal strength and signal quality like?
Where are you?
Which transmitter is your aerial pointing at?

No one can help without this information.
