Chris.SE:
Well, thanks for that, Chris! Ignorant as I am, I wasn't aware that local multiplexes might be transmitted from relays.

For some reason, I didn't see the Sutton Coldfield transmissions. I bow to your superior knoledge of the network.

After looking around a bit, I discovered that relays have relays that have relays!

But back to The Wrekin, and the service tables off it's frequencies.

The Wrekin doesn't have a parent transmitter but it's service tables belong to Sutton Coldfield.

Makes no sense to me.

Chris.SE: Another curiosity is the presence in the NIT of two BBC A multiplexes with the same target regions:

They are, presumably, mutually exclusive?

Chris.SE: Well, thanks for the compliment Chris, but I don't deserve it. And thanks for correcting the typo:

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

I noticed it as soon as I had posted, but we can't edit our posts.

Chris.SE: Yes, I'm probably going to lose both Haslingden ch 29 BBC B and The Wrekin ch 30- BBC B on 12th August.

Chris.SE: Regarding Transport Stream IDs or TSIDs:

I'm not aware of any official list of TSIDs but the tables off com7 and 8 have SDT and EPG for what seems to be every UK multiplex.

Unfortunately, because they are not in the NIT, there are no Target Regions, frequencies, or LCNs for the services on them, so the problem is to discover the transmitters that carry them.

There has never been any frequency data for T2 multiplexes anyway, so no loss there.

Only the PSBs have Target Regions other than GBR.

The BBC ONE service names give the region for BBC A multiplexes.

For D3&4, the EPG data gives the regional ITV local news.

For BBC B, where currently BBC ONE HD is not regionalised, the region is indicated, though perhaps not uniquely, by the ITV HD local news.

This is Com7 National pf.xls (663KB) - the now/next off com7 showing the ITV local news regions:

Free large file hosting. Send big files the easy way!

This list is from around the time when Com78 National first appeared:

Com78 National 15-01-2018 21 07.txt - Pastebin.com

This is the current list:

Com7 National 29-07-2020 20 44.txt - Pastebin.com

The old list is useful for identifying Local Multiplexes which now have no indication of region or city, for example:

Local Multiplex
ONID.TSID = 233A.800B
(
LCN SID TYPE SERVICE NAME
--- 804B 01 That's TV
--- 82C0 01 Tiny Pop
--- 8380 01 Sony Movies +1
--- 84C0 01 Sony Channel
--- 8500 01 Sony Movies Classic
--- 8540 01 Ideal Extra
)

Local Multiplex
ONID.TSID = 233A.800B
(
LCN SID TYPE SERVICE NAME
--- 804B 01 That's Manchester
--- 8100 01 The Vault
--- 8200 01 POP Max
--- 8240 01 True Crime
--- 8280 01 True Movies
--- 82C0 01 Tiny Pop
--- 8380 01 Sony Movie Channel+1
)

That's the best I can offer you.

PaulC: Yes, it could be the aerial.

What signal strength and quality do you get for C29, C31, C32, C34, C35, C37 and C55?

Do you have anything on LCN 7 in your channel list?

R Green: Have you updated your TX-L37E30B to the latest firmware?

Looking at this thread:

Panasonic epg problems

It seems a solution has been found:

"Well after 2 years of just having Now and Next on my Panasonic L42E30B EPG I now have the full 7 day guide back."

Firmware is here:

Mike: BBC FOUR timeshares with CBeebies. Retune after 7pm when it is on air and you will gain BBC FOUR but lose CBeebies.

If you get the HD version on your telly, try keeping HDMI leads away from your aerial coax and use a USB extension lead that has a choke to reduce Radio Frequency Interference from your computer.
