(Just FYI, I'm at EH7 4EE and usually I can get all 6 muxes from Craigkelly, Black Hill and Angus transmitters, and have done since before switchover, so it would probably have to be a total outage rather than running at reduced power for me to lose my Craigkelly signal.)

Michael, can you tell what mode it is? The info above for it doesn't match any of the modes listed on the modes page. Seems daft to use a non-standard mode, and also to use QPSK at all...

Maybe your receiver doesn't like the non-standard mode being used for transmission (if the mode info provided is correct). Do you get com7 OK? What receiver do you have?

Actually I think it's a fair question as to why BBC4 HD isn't on PSB3. The BBC transmit CBBC HD on PSB3 in the daytime, why can't they transmit BBC4 HD in the same slot in the evenings - just as they used to transmit BBC3 HD in that slot?

ukfree.tv's own page on the Usk transmitter - Which Freeview channels does the Usk transmitter broadcast? - says it's horizontal.

I'm no expert but I thought if your aerial was out by 90 you would in theory receive no signal at all... maybe all you've been getting is from reflections (which can turn the polarity) and your drop-outs are due to disappearing reflections? Anyway, if you can safely get to the aerial, it sounds like it could be worth five minutes with a spanner!

I also looked at the Digital UK predictor for your address - Coverage Checker - Detailed View - and it suggests you might also be able to pick up full Freeview service from the Mendip transmitter, even though it's 55km further away, and it's nearly the same direction from you, and also with horizontal polarisation.

Seems to be off again tonight. Or maybe the wind blew my aerial off the roof...?

Having just retuned, it looks like we now have:
(Unchanged)
PSB1 BBCA BBC SD - CH27
PSB2 D3+4 ITV, C4, C5 etc SD - CH24
PSB3 BBCB HD - CH21
(Changed)
Com4 SDN Drama, 5USA etc - CH29
Com5 ArqA Pick, Really, etc - CH31
Com6 ArqB 4Music, Yesterday etc - CH37
LEH Local - CH32
Com7 BBC News HD, 5USA+1 - CH55
Com8 BBC4 HD, CBeebies HD - CH56

And either my aerial is the wrong group, or the signal's very low on Com7/Com8 compared to before the change, because my PVR is showing 2 bars out of 10 for signal strength for them, and it used to be about 4 when they were on CH33, while my PSB3/BBCB signal strength still shows 5/10. Maybe I need a new aerial anyway if 5/10 is the best any of them show though!

Bidge: you probably need to do a full re-tune - maybe even a from-scratch install - to get your TV/box to clear out the channel list before you retune. Digital TV has guidance for various devices here: Digital UK | Retuning instructions
