Denis:

I agree. I used to have to deal with television reception problems and many of them stemmed from poor flyleads. Some were not soldered nor screwed together and they were the most common causes of problems. Those that were soldered gave the least trouble unless the inner core wire(s) broke. A few were screwed together and they only gave problems if they we moved whilst under tension.
Personally, I prefer to solder the wires in, much more reliable from my lengthy experience.

Tom:

We need a full post code to look up what reception will be like at your precise location, a town name is not accepted by the Digital UK Coverage Checker.

I suggest you double check all the connections between the aerial terminals and the TV set aerial socket. Ensure that the outer sheath of the coaxial cable(s) does not come into contact with the inner conductor at any point, especially where there are any coaxial plugs fitted.

Tim Whittle:

According to the Digital UK Coverage Checker you should be getting excellent reception from Belmont transmitter, see About us | Freeview You could even get good reception of Emley Moor signals!

So it is worth checking all your aerial connections and cables. If there are any coaxial plugs/sockets then unplug those and refit them. Check that your aerial has not moved in the recent winds and that the cables are undamaged.

P Kieran Ward & Chris.SE:

My smart TV does not have that feature and neither does my brothers. So some TVs may have it but others may not.

It could well have been for some engineering work or checking the navigation lights as all of those mean an engineer climbing the mast and they have to turn the transmitter off for health and safety reasons.

Please p[rovide a full post code, not a partial one as that does not help us to examine your expected reception.

P. Kieran Ward:

Trouble is some people reading posts here would interpret that as meaning their TV has that feature, when it actually may not.

This is not the website to contact Blaze. No one from that broadcaster will look at these pages so will not see your comments.

True Entertainment are broadcast only on the local services that is not available from all transmitters. If you get local services on LCN 7 or 8 then you should be getting True Entertainment. If you do not get the local services then you will not be able to watch any of the Sony channels.
