Hi, do we know when the new channel numbers for the MUX will be made known, because obviously I am going to need a new aerial as I currently have a C/D aerial.

Thanks

It way be worth contacting someone regarding this, i know from another forum that Brierley Hill have had reception issues and complaints have been made regarding this. A period of off air a couple of weeks ago was for this to be inverstigated but I don't know whether the problem was solved. From what I have heard the reception problems were only in one direction from the transmitter.

David, channel 7 is broadcast from a little side aerial at a much lower rate, 200W as opposed to the main MUXes which are broadcast at 2000W.

The other website was Digital Spy, I was asking about the engineering work going on at the transmitter concerning next years frequency changes. On the 22/08/17, Brierley Hill was off air between 10:40 and 11:59 and I asked was this shut down connected with this work, I received the following reply

"The Brierley Hill work today was unplanned - hence why the work wasn't listed as part of this weeks planned engineering works. This has nothing to do with 700MHz clearance though. It's been done so that they can investigate reports of poor reception in some areas served by the transmitter. PSB 1-3 and COM 4-6 were shut down for up to two hours but were left on air in the afternoon to avoid a loss of lunch time news bulletins."

Whether they corrected the problem I am unsure, being as it is BBCB MUX you are having problems with, would speak to the BBC about it,

Sadly it's on COM8, so never.

Daly it's broadcast on COM8 which relay transmitters don't carry, so unfortunately no chance.

You could try Sutton Coldfield, try a manual tune on channel 35.

Same here, although I receive main tv from Brierley Hill, can normally get a very decent signal from Sutton Coldfield for COM7 & 8, however as Steven said the last couple of afternoons there has been no signal, plus at other times the signal has been a lot weaker than normal.

Problem is the only websites that give transmitter information only seem to show the BBC Muxesso you can't really check although Sutton Coldfield was down on the DigitalUK site as having engineering works this week.

From The Wrekin pages today

"This is very likely caused by the high atmospheric pressure affecting various parts of the country, causing lift conditions which allow signals from distant transmitters which cannot normally be received to interfere with the signals from the transmitter you normally use. Do not attempt to retune as this will delete all of your channels which are already correctly tuned. As this is an entirely natural phenomenon, all you can do is wait for the atmospheric conditions to return to normal."

Yes I will be interested in the West Midlands which also should include Brierley Hill which seems to be missing from the list although the curremt channels are in the 700mhz range.

tahrey, you don't say which area you are from but channel 26 is used by both The Wrekin & Bromsgrove transmitters. As for channel 33 & 35, I have noticed lately that the signal seems a lot less robust on COM 7 & 8,

From 7th March, COM 7 & 8 will move to channels 55 & 56, will be interesting to see if these channels are more robust after that.

Think MikeP may be right, I am on Brierley Hill transmitter and have just tried to record CBS Drama and it worked fine, so maybe your equipment?
