Interestingly this morning I can now get channel 33 albeit only with signal quality between 24% to 35% and most of the time since doing a manual retune for channel 33 the picture only slightly breaks up every now and again which is not surprising.

Adding to my earlier posts I am now getting better signal quality and strength for Mux channel 33 (ArqB) with only occasional blocking for the TV channels but it is observed that the signal quality strength does vary quite a lot. Mux channel 29 (SDN) remains solid without any dips in strength.

Signal quality on channel 33 the last couple of says very up and down but this morning is hovering between 93% and 100% which is the best it has been since the retune.

Channel 4 abandons Freesat HD in TWO DAYS

@Howard
You probably needed to post that under the radio section rather than the TV, of little bother or interest to anyone on a TV thread!

DigitalUK website is reporting possible weak signal from Midhurst transmitter. I have been having the same in Southwater (nr Horsham). Mostly BBC will be fine one minute then loss of signal occurs for a period of time then comes back. Other channels have been affected but BBC seems to be worst. Looking at the TV signal strength that was showing a very dodgy signal strength but ok at the minute.

Reception from Midhurst to Southwater seems at up and down at the moment for the BBCA mux, anyone else got a problem with picture breakup?

I am not having issues with BBCB mux as I am preferring to use HD channels for BBC over SD. Lots of picture breakup on BBCA this evening. It could be that engineering work might happen in the next week or so if there is an issue with the transmitter that is.

Pete: Confused? Not sure what you mean as I know BBCA carries SD and radio and it is this mux that is poor for me at the moment. Because BBCB mux is fine I am preferring to watch BBC HD channels at the moment to watch BBC channels where possible. I am aware Midhurst doesn't carry COM7 and COM8 which has the additional HD channels such as BBC Four HD etc. Some of the channel numbers and the associated frequencies above are out of date though.

Interesting, since a fault was fixed on the 27th July for BBCA mux the intermittent random problem I had with the signal dropping out completely for BBCA mux for a few minutes for a number of weeks has now gone.

@Chris.SE
It turned out that the original aerial installer didn't use a big enough poll (which was a scaffold pole cut to size) to clear the neighbours roof opposite our house! That and the trees behind the houses made for very poor reception. Now got the aerial on top of a nice 20ft poll and all mux's show 100% across the board! Fortunately the aerial is good quality I was told.
