Hi Brian,
There is something wrong: when I try to log on to your site, I get a warning about "security certificate" and a recommendation NOT to proceed, which I ignore.
This may put off more-timid souls!
What is the problem?

Neil, I'm puzzled by your explanations (thanks); if a dish is properly aligned to a given satellite, the LNB is held at the focal point of the dish. If your switching system changes to another LNB and moves it so that it is at the focal point, the dish will still be pointing at the original satellite. Does your system rely on good strong signals from the other satellites; strong enough to be picked up by a wrongly aligned dish?

Not quite Freeview, but I have a query about Satellite channels. Now that the channels have been re-distributed to different Astra satellites, there are four ITV HD channels on the same frequency / polarity. The frequency is 11097, polarity V and each is labelled 'ITV HD'. Is it possible to determine whether the channel is London, or Granada (for example) without waiting for something like local news?

To your website designer: I am now stuck with a left-hand sidebar. How do I get rid of it? Please email your answer.

Hi Brian, I have a question which is not about TV reception; I wonder if you have any advice?
I have purchased a combi-receiver and found that the manual, apart from being a miniscule copy, is unfinished and unavailable as a download. I am doing a bit of improving for myself and want to connect the output from the receiver, via the HDMI sockets, to display on my laptop so that I can do some screen prints. Is this possible and, if so, how do I get the output to show on my laptop?

Chesterfield

Hi,
I live in Clay Cross, S45 9EQ, south of Chesterfield; I receive my Freeview from the Waltham transmitter using a boosted loft aerial. A few days ago the programs on my SD TV and through my SD/HD digibox both started playing up. The picture has blanks, pixilation, breakup and frame mixing, accompanied by loss of sound, 'wheezes and sqeaks' and even loud cracks.
I have followed your recommendations, but there is no improvement. Neither are there any reported engineering works or breakdowns.
Do you know if the dreaded 4g has started in this area?

Response to Mike B.
Thanks for your comments. I thought you would like to know that I contacted the people who are handling problems caused by 4G. Two Engineers called and checked my installation. First: they confirmed I was tuned to Waltham. They then did some further checking at my lounge aerial input and followed this with a visit to my loft where my booster and booster/distributor are situated, in series.
Downstairs again for further checks (after fitting a filter pre-boosters). Then up to the loft again for further adjustments and down again to confirm that they had got rid of the interference.
Finally, I had to sign that they had been and that they had not sold me anything.
Two or three days later, I got a call to ask my opinion of the Engineers and their service.
Altogether, a very good experience. Just in case others follow our example; I don't know if being over 75 got us the work done without charge.

response for jb38-
The combo receiver is labelled as "HD DVB-T2&S2 COMBO", sold by eBay site 'ukdigital15'. However, they are now selling a differently labelled combo.

Channel 4 abandons Freesat HD in TWO DAYS
Saturday 17 March 2018 2:08PM

Mike B,
I'm confused! I have two sat boxes (Openbox V8S) and I continue to receive CH4 HD. I have a second-hand 'NOW TV' box on which I can receive 'All4'. Why the announced cut-off of 22 Feb, which has not been applied?

Is the new Paramount channel free-to-air? If so, what are the required values for my 'Openbox' receiver?
