jb38: I bought it from Argos - Bush DVB-T2 PVR MPEG4 248/9502, I chose this one as it's one stop up from the one that went wrong which I'd had for nearly 2 years and was very happy with , it's about the 4th box I've had over the years so it's not like I don't know how to install it. Usually you just plug them in and they start downloading on their own and tells you in steps on the TV screen without you really having to do too much but this one just refused to co-operate for some reason. I tried it on my 2 TVs, my main TV it wouldn't do anything, on the TV which I rarely use it flashed up i n s t a l a couple of times, which obviously means installing, but nothing came up on the TV screen, I waited twice from 30 minutes to an hour, with nothing happening, then the word "scan" appeared for a split second and went off, again there was nothing on the TV screen. When my friend plugged it into his TV, the same happened, he even turned it off and on a few times from the switch on the front of the box, we then left it for a while as we were frustrated at that time as to why it wouldn't down load, then he started pressing all the buttons on the hand set and believed he pressed the right and left arrows around the OK button, that's all he can remember, and a picture appeared on the TV screen, much to our amazement.

That's all I can tell you really. I hope that helps.

I haven't had any TV channels since Saturday night (24th), now only have 2, channel 8 (London L|ive) and 81 (Talking Pictures TV), I keep retuning the TV and nothing happens, I do have a few other channels but are breaking up all the time and impossible to watch. All the TV channels came on suddenly yesterday afternoon, but went off after about 15 minutes so I'm back to watching 8 & 81. I found a website with 2,400 complains on it from people all over the South East (I'm in NW London), so it much be a general on going process if some transmitters and being worked on and change. One person said they haven't had any TV since last Monday (19th) who's in Hastings. .I have been on this website before with previously problems a year or so ago, I think you just have to sit it out and wait for the work to be finished. My postcode is HA2 0RS. One person said he even had a top of the range new all singing and dancing TV and ihe can't get anything on it!

Sorry about the mistakes in my previous post, I typed it very quickly, went back to read it through before posting but it had disappeared so my pointy thing on the screen must have touched "post comment" and it went through. It seems to have a mind of it's own and moves around the screen without me even touching it..

Just an update to my two previous posts of today, my channels, I only have Freeview, have all come back now after doing yet another scan. How long they will last is anyone's guess, but I really hope they don't disappear again after about 20 minutes as they did yesterday afternoon.

i had the same problem in March and lost all of my channels for about 3 days except for 2, London (8) and 81. It seemed to be a huge problem in the south east at that time so work must have been in process on one of the transmitters. They all suddenly came on after 3 days, however, then went off again after about 20 minutes and I followed the instructions from a previous post as follows:

Try disconnecting the aerial feed to the troubled TV, turn the TV off from the wall and refit all the plugs and sockets (poor contact can cause this problem). Then do a retune without the aerial connected followed by a retune with the aerial plugged in. Then check the signal strengths for all the channels, it needs to be between 60% and 85%. Any higher or lower will cause problems. Remember that different make/model sets have different tuners, some being more susceptible to overload than other or being less sensitive so needing more signal.

You may have done all of the above but I thought I would post it anyway.
