Hi Gary,

If you want to see subscription channels on the daughters box then yes you have to pay sky each month & you have to connect your daughters box to the phone line too. If you just want access to the free channels you dont have to pay sky or connect it to the phone line. If you have multiroom you should already have a quad fitted to your dish.

Hello Heidi,

You have a much better chance of reception if you use a freesat receiver & satellite dish. You have the choice of standard def / high def / high def hard disc recorder. prices are from £30 to £214 for the satellite receiver. Take a look at these links.

- Buy Bush BFSAT02SD Freesat SD Digital Box - Black. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for .
and Humax FOXSAT-HDR | freesat+ box With 320GB Hard Drive PVR | Richer Sounds -

Use a local satellite installer to supply & fit the correct size & type of satellite dish for your location, good luck & if you require further help just ask.

Hi Brian,

On the bt vision box there is only one way to do it, I believe that the epg is provided via bt servers as the box will not operate without a internet connection, I thinks its also how the box knows what programs i like & records them even after they havent been on for two years ! It works a bit like a tivo & in my opinion its a very underated bit of kit !

Hi Brian,

I believe the bt vision updates at 2am unless there is a schedule change, so I expect it will correct it then.
Im looking foreward to the bt vision freeview hd+ version due out later this year.

Hi Brian,

Unfortunatly I live at the bottom of the valley, so I dont have any chance of getting soarview :-( I do also have a couple of sagem picnic mpeg4 capable boxes which I may use abroad (how delusional of sky to order boxes for a system that ofcom hadn't given consent to !) I looking with interest to the launch of soarsat which I may be able to receive here !

ITV1+1 11 January 2011 (at last) | TV channels

Hi Brian,

The picnic boxes were de-branded & sold off very cheap via trade outlets.

About 5 years ago all sky asa's were called to meetings where as well as the usual threats about selling more subs & less freesats, some jumped up twat informed the room that picnic would have approval within weeks & that picnic & sky would dominate freeview very quickly. I think that the only person in the room who believed this crock was the twat spouting it ! With so much unfounded faith in themselves it was no great surprise they ordered the receivers before ofcom's consent.

Hi Craig,

The vast majority of sky + (two wire) installs have a four output quad lnb however you may not be able to see the extra connections due to a pull down cover that protects the connections from the rain.
