Are the G Man channels on winter hill channel 57 like movies4men/Heartv/Capital/m4m+1/Sony SAB and FireHit TV available in North East Lancs via Winter Hill or will they become available more widely once topuptv closes?

DRM+ and DRM should have been considered as platforms for AM and FM;each bbc local radio station should have two drm tx masts for each MW frequency with good power levels to provide good coverage of the MW service areas previously served by the existing analogue AM signals, and each bbc local radio FM tx should be equipped for DRM+ transmission with good power levels to serve the same service areas that analogue FM currently does.

DAB is a poor platform;to carry services at high quality stereo you can only fit 6 into a multiplex at 192kbps, to get more in you have to drop to mono and reduce bit rates which makes them sound lousy.

patriciabedwell: What kind of receiver are you using;Sky+HD or Freesat? If you are using one of these receivers, your dish may have slipped out of alignment. If you are using a generic free-to-air non Sky or Freesat receiver you may need to do a retune.

john hope: Relay transmitters and sub-relays do not, as a rule, carry all freeview channels, only high power main transmitting stations carry the full roster of freeview channels generally.

I have put up a brand new 48 element wideband high gain aerial today on a Freeview HD setup today and cannot get channel 31 HD multiplex;I have used the existing aerial cable that came with the old aerial, could the old cable be causing problems and if so would recabling with all new cable restore this?

Is the set top box set for rgb output via SCART? This gives much better reproduction of freeview sd and hd broadcasts. S-Video connection (if your stb and tv are so equipped) can also give good clear reproduction of freeview sd and hd broadcasts too. Composite phono is poor and tends to multiply and show up digital MPEG2 artefacts at their worst along with fuzzy edges and colour bleed.

Steve freesat uses SCART mainly, connect this with a good quality Scart lead to AV1 on your tv and select RGB in the menu. This gives richer colours and sharper details than CVBS output. Some more expensive Freesat and non-Freesat fta satellite boxes also offer S-Video 4 pin connectors and/or S-Video via SCART.

In car DAB is pathetic;reception is pants, quality is pathetic and many music stations are only in mono sound. DRM and DRM+ is better on mw lw sw and fm as it covers much larger areas than dab with fewer transmitters needed bigger homogenous coverage and more robust reception and near fm quality on am bands with stereo and cd quality stereo too. Ofcom the bbc and commercial stations and radio manufacturers are stupid in sticking with DAB and its poor relation dabplus. If I were in govt I would go for drm on am bands and drm+ on fm bands and push radio manufacturers and broadcasters to it;current trials have worked well within europe the uk and worldwide so whats stopping the UK from taking it on?
