As I understand things, London Live will transmit only from Crystal Palace. If you can't receive Crystal Palace transmissions, you'll have to turn to cable or satellite to receive the station. As I understand the things I've read, there are no plans for any form of single frequency network.

From the larger relays, Guildford is on the phase two list to get its own local TV station.

When I did my retuning this morning, I found that my YouView box and DVD recorder retuned without any problem. However, the TV would only retune if I plugged the aerial directly into it, rather than via the two boxes. Should I have my aerial and cabling checked? The aerial is very small, minimal number of elements, but I do live on the summit of a hill. The cabling I suspect is 40 years old, though I think the aerial may date from the start of Channel 5.

Will there be another retune when local TV starts? Will I be able to add that mux manually? If yes, on what channel?

Aerialman makes the point about which I was going to ask. The previous owners of the house I live in had satellite. If I were to have the opportunity to buy a very cheap Freesat box, I might, but I'm happy with Freeview only, though I've also got a YouView box. How many people have Freeview + Freesat? How many people have Sky + Freesat (presumably on a second TV)? How many people have cable + Freesat?

Have Ofcom published the transmitter power details for each of the phase 1 sites and/or each of the phase 2 sites? Have any of the phase 1 franchisees opted to use better mast positions than was assumed in the forecast maps? If yes, how will these changes affect the areas where reception is possible?

I seem to have a problem with my TV aerial. The aerial socket seems to have a loose connection. It's one of those sockets that's built into the house and I suspect that the cable connecting it to the aerial is the probably the original cable put in when the house was built in 1972. I think that the cable needs to be changed. In contrast, from ground level, the aerial seems to be in quite good condition and may be OK. What should I expect to pay a contractor to service my aerial system and change whatever is needed? How much more would a DAB aerial cost? What's the best way to find a reputable aerial fitter?

Thanks. I think at £150 for a fitter to do it, I might see whether or not I can do it myself first. I have fitted an aerial before but in the loft.

If it becomes apparent that existing frequency allocations to mobile communications are sufficient for the foreseeable future, will COMs 7&8 be extended to cover other transmitters, with existing transmitters being given additional power?

This question is really curiosity. At the moment everyone seems to worship the mobile phone and mobile data. What if the growth in demand ends and the level of demand plateaus at a quantity that can be served by existing available bandwidth, either as is or by using new technology to utilize it more efficiently? Just because demand for mobile communications seems to have grown exponentially up until now, surely that doesn't mean it will necessarily continue so?

How are they fitting all these channels into the system? Are other channels closing down, is signal compression becoming more efficient or are they compressing channels more (at the same efficiency of compression)?

Most of these seem pretty much as expected but what is the Croydon radiation pattern? That hasn't previously been mentioned, as far as I know.
