VIVA will cease to be broadcast on Freeview 'early' next year. It will be replaced by male-orientated US channel Spike on Freeview. VIVA will still be available to UK satellite and cable viewers.

Some of the shows currently broadcast on VIVA are going to migrate to C5, 5USA and 5*. Viacom have stated that the Spike UK schedule will contain repeats of C5 factual programming, Spike's US content and library content from other Viacom channels such as MTV and Comedy Central.

Viacom own all of the channels mentioned above.

zak: Hi Zak, are you having this problem with any other channels or is it just VIVA?

Graham Hankins: Yes Graham, I receive my TV signals from Sutton Coldfield and have just checked and I have exactly the same thing. The EPG information for every channel is present and correct - except for True Entertainment on channel 61. It looks to me as if the problem is 'at their end' i.e. they are not broadcasting EPG information for this channel at the moment for some reason.

John Bilclough: There does appear to be an issue with the EPG information for this channel at the moment. The channel do not appear to be broadcasting the EPG information at the moment for some reason. BTW what transmitter do you receive your TV broadcasts from - as both myself and someone else who receives their TV pictures from Sutton Coldfield has reported the same problem.

mary taylor: Sadly, only a small number of TV Channels are required to add subtitles to the programmes that they broadcast by the rules governing broadcasting. Smaller and/or newer channels like True Entertainment are not required to add subtitles. It would cost the channel money to add subtitles of their own to the broadcast programmes. So there is no commercial incentive for the channel to add subtitles.

It would require a change in the law to force a TV channel like True Entertainment, Quest, Movie Mix etc. etc. to add subtitles - have you complained to your MP about the lack of subtitles on many TV channels? At the end of the day it is MP's who create the rules governing TV broadcasting.

The BBC2 programme "See Hear" campaigns on issues of importance to deaf and partially deaf people - perhaps you could ask them to raise the issue direct with the broadcaster and OFCOM on your behalf.

jb38: OK everyone who has (like me) been reporting the loss of the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) information for Freeview channel 61 - True Entertainment. In an official response to the large number of queries and complaints that the broadcaster has received regarding this matter they posted a message on their facebook page (sadly their website is currently down as it is being upgraded) saying that it was a problem that happened over the weekend due to a power-shortage on their computer servers.

I am pleased to say that the problem seems to have now been resolved. The EPG information for T.E. is back up and working again now on my TV. Can others check and see if it is up and running again for them?

shirley: That sounds like an episode of the long-running US TV series 'Highway to Heaven' starring Michael Landon as an angel sent to earth. It was a two-part episode called "The Monster" (episodes 10 and 11 of season Two of Highway to Heaven). If The Monster - part 1 was shown on the Friday then I'm afraid you missed part 2 as it would have been shown on the following Monday.

Highway to Heaven is available to buy on DVD but you would have to buy the entire season two (20+ episodes). True Entertainment will I'm sure show the episode again. But as there are something like 155 episodes of Highway to Heaven it might be some time before they show that particular episode again. Although they do have a habit of repeating episodes at random.

fred nye: This is NOT the website of the TV channel True Entertainment. You could e-mail them again to at the very least complain about their tardiness replying to your original e-mail. Though I am afraid that if you e-mailed them 'a few weeks ago' then I would assume that the second part of 'George Wallace' has now been shown.

For future reference you may find it useful to use one of the on-line TV guide websites. Locate TV is the one I always use. That website allows you to search the schedule of the channel for a specific programme title and remind you (via e-mail) when for example part 2 of a programme is being broadcast. Locate TV's True Entertainment page can be found at www.locatetv.com/uk/listings/trueent

K Rushton: This is NOT the website of the TV channel More4. Complaints about Lee Mack's jokes, swearing not being beeped out on programmes etc. should be sent to the channel. Irrespective of whether the users of this site do or do not agree with your opinion about Lee Mack's 'joke' there is nothing we can do about it as we do not work for Channel 4. The More4 website is at Programmes - All - Channel 4
