Hi, we have a free sat box and it allows you to add free channels by inputting their frequencies.
I was wanting to add some of the freeview channels like Dave and Challenge.
How do I find their frequencies?

Lee: You can find lists of free-to-air channels at Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2D at 28.2°E - LyngSat and Satellite directory - KingOfSat .

Dave and Challenge are both encrypted, and require a Sky box and active Sky subscription to watch. Sky's encryption scheme is proprietary and not implemented by any other receivers. Freesat receivers might have a Common Interface slot for a decoder module, but Sky do not provide a decoder that can fit into this slot.

There aren't many channels left that are free-to-air but not in Freesat's EPG. Sky require a lengthy technical change procedure for the channel to add the Freesat EPG data as well as Sky's, so there are a few that haven't applied or it's still pending.

D Elliott: You will have to edit the transponder details to,
Frequency 10847
H/V Vertical
S/R 23000
DVB Standard DVB.S2
Modulation QPSK
FEC 8/9.
If at any time you get "No Signal" check the FEC. If it as changed to 3/4 alter it back to 8/9.

duncan duffy: You will need to use Freesat, and when you set up the box enter a Scottish postcode.

If you have Sky, you can add STV via the "More channels" option, the service is on 10906 V 22 5/6.

We live in the N21 area of North London. During the last few months, our HD/DVD recorder has frequently failed to record favourite programmes mainly on ITV channels and Channel 4. We have had to autotune the HD/freeview television set each time. We rent all the TV equipment from Box Clever and they assure us that their is nothing wrong with the TV set and the recorder. Can you tell us if it is something to do with the signal from the transmitters. What can we do about this problem?
