Hi there. Yesterday, 28th August, Latest TV Brighton was launched here in Brighton but retuning my TV does not give me Channel 8 to receive reception. Can you tell me why? My post code is BN2 5WJ here in Brighton Marina. Thanks

Fran Shuttlewood : Good news then! that of course being apart from the financial cost of replacing the defective booster / power supply / plus labour for fitting same etc.
I do feel though, that the main aspect of your problem responsible for misleading symptoms was due to the strong signal from the local Woodford Halse relay transmitter being received by breaking through the defective booster, whereas anything of a lower level such as from Oxford, not doing.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to give an update on the situation, and pleased that everything is now back to normal.

Patrick: Unfortunately you appear to be out of range for reception of the Brighton local mux, Digital UK does not show this mux at all within the table for predicted reception at your location.

Over the last 3 days Freeview has changed - Retune does not work, volume change no longer appears on screen, program details are no longer available, etc
I have 2 sets with separate Goodman GD11 FVZS2 set top boxes and both show the same faults. The aerial and connections appear to be OK. Reception of stations is still OK however.
What is happening ?

John Butler: I know what you mean, since my Goodmans box has frozen and sometimes refuses to react to the remote on and off for the last three weeks. Firstly, I don't think its a software problem, since I doubt that the software has ever been updated. However, its not impossible that something with the signal has slightly changed, and thrown the box - it certainly seems to happen on some channels more than others.
Secondly, like you, signal strength is perfect, so its not a matter of a dodgy feed.
My cure is to normally pull out the power lead at the back of the box, which resets it. However, it sometimes freezes a minute later, so a 'mains reset' is not a total solution.
I'm waiting for the retune on the 3rd, and if its not OK by then, I'm just going to buy another box (although they all seem to be by Vestral..). But my advice would be to spend as little money as possible if you are going to replace them (if you can't take them back to the shop) - there is no point in spending good money after bad.
