Freeview reception at BT7 1RQ

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Sarah Sayer: In situations such as yours, its always the best policy to make a local enquiry to ascertain if others are also suffering from similar problems as yourself, because if they are, then this eliminates the possibility of the problem being associated with a defect in your own installation, this obviously saving on time wasted needlessly checking connections etc.

That said, its noticed that your area is one containing a large number of trees with some of being of the dense variety, and indeed the aerials on some properties are seen to be facing directly into same, if by any chance this applies to your particular property then this might be the cause of your reception problem, trees having a blocking effect on RF signals, and which can vary quite considerably dependant on the moisture content of the leaves.

We retuned and had 101 HD BBC Wales and picked up local news through HD. Now a week later we have no local news on 101hd and have to switch to 1 Wales. Why has this happened?we have tried to retune and this hasn't made any difference.

We obtain Freeview services via the Mendip transmitter. All was OK prior to the major retune required on 3 September, but since then we have experienced some problems.
Intermittent signal break-up and pixilation is evident on some recordings on our Humax PVR, and more recently the Humax has not recorded some chosen programmes. Our Samsung TV now does not seem to recognise its connection to the Humax PVR (i.e. via HDMI2), unless the PVR is physically switched on. I have checked for updates for the TV and PVR, but all seems up to be up to date in that respect. Any ideas what the problem may be, please?

Sabrina: Thank you. The funny thing is since yesterday it is fine and the first time i have been able to access the red button in weeks with no freezing etc, keeping fingers crossed but something has definitely changed in the last couple of days. we have the same problems on a tv in the back room that has no roof aerial!n I am using a Goodmans digibox.

Hi there first time her. My parents live in Uk and their Reciever just burnt out. In any case I was looking at the TivuSat system for them. I thought Humax was a safe bet. Can anyone recommend any other system. Generally I was hoping for a nice user friendly system. Easy to use etc.
Thanks

We get our Freeview services via the Angus 9 transmitter.
All was OK prior to the major retune on 3 September. Until 15th September everything was fine, but we have since experienced some problems.
Intermittent signal break-up and pixelation is evident on all the BBC channels, but other channels mostly unaffected.
It's been like this for a week, and although we thought it was due to the bad weather, we have had good conditions today and there is no change.
Any ideas what the problem may be, please?

Lee Baker: Check that it is tuned to Angus transmitter for BBC services and not Tay Bridge.

Bring up the signal strength screen on BBC One. It should be on C60 (786MHz) and not C41 (634MHz). If it's tuned to Tay Bridge and there's no manual tuning available then you might be able to do the unplugging aerial trick so it doesn't "see" the Tay Bridge signal when it does its scan.

Hi there,

My sony kdl-26v4500 will not pick up channel 64, despite me doing a digital retune several times and a factory reset. The tv has not been in use for about 4 weeks and has not been plugged in to anything not even an aerial. Yet what is strange is that a tv upstairs can receive channel 64 no problems. They both use the same aerial which is mounted on the chimney and according to my sony kdl-26v4500 the signal strength is green which I take to mean strong. Please help!
