Brian Lark: Do you have a TV with an HD tuner, and do you have a transmitter that supplies that channel?

Susan Kinsey: An aerial is an aerial - as long as it works, then its fine. Probably not going to get that many channels, looking at the terrain, but Ludlow is just 2km away.

Susan Kinsey:

Further to that said by MikeB, have a look at the small blue box that should have appeared below your posting and is entitled' digitaluk trade'. That contains information about which transmitters are possible at your location. It suggests you should tune to channels 39, 42 and 45. That will enable you to watch a number of services, but as Ludlow is not a 'full service' transmitter you will get the main PSB services such as BBC, ITV, Ch4, etc.

I'm using a Humax Freeview box at SN14 6DQ, Aerial is on the roof. Over the last couple of months the HD channels keep disappearing. Can you please tell me if this is to do with 4G interference and if so, what can be done about it.

Thanks in advance

Rob B: You can check for 4G masts yourself. However, based on all the other 'is it 4G?' questions on this site, the answer is probably no.

Your 46km from mendip, with a clear line of sight. So check your signal strength - as I replied to someone yesterday, if your losing channels. your losing muxes. And thats most likely because your system is failing. So check all connections, etc.

I Williams:

You can't have a 'FreeSky' box as they don't exist. You may well have a Freesat box though, or possibly be using an ex-Sky box without a subscription. You don't tell us what make and model you have so it is difficult to advise. However, check the batteries in the remote control by swapping them for new ones. If that doesn't cure it, turn off the mains supply to the box and unplug it for at least 10 minutes. Then plug in again but don't try turning the box on yet. After another 5 minutes try turning the box on again with the remote control and then wait another 5 minutes. Then check whether you have the correct programmes. If that cures the problem than your box suffered a technical problem inside and the process described force it to perform a reset.

Rob B:

I am on Mendip and there is no problem at the transmitter. So as MikeB suggests you have a fault in your equipment somewhere. Check all the aerial connections from the back of the TV sert right up to the aerial. Ensure that all the connections are good and that the cable is not damaged in any way. Also check that the inner metal core is separated from the outer metal braiding so there is not a short circuit.

Please post a question, answer or commentIf you have Freeview reception problems before posting a question your must first do this Freeview reset procedure then see: Freeview reception has changed, Single frequency interference, and Freeview intermittent interference.

If you have no satellite signal, see Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'

If you have other problems, please provide a full (not partial) postcode (or preferably enter it in box at the top right) and indicate where if aerial is on the roof, in the loft or elsewhere.
