Pat : Re MikeB's reply, I feel that this was really intended as a reply to Andre Walkers query made at 4:00 pm.
On the subject of the Telecam, if you are referring to the TCE2000 then this being based on a log periodic design is an excellent little device but of course with limitations, however if, as I unfortunately expect, that reception is still affected by movement within the room then this type of aerial out of all same room types should take on a new dimension if "carefully" positioned in the loft, other wise I suggest using either a DM or Log36 as seen on the link.

johnny: Purely out of curiosity is your running with what "was" (as its dated) the latest firmware update of 2.47? as those boxes were notorious for HDMI problems, the firmware number being accessed under "configuration" in the set menu.
You should also try a test by changing the picture resolution settings, these also being under configuration.

Watford
Hi, living in Watford we have no BBC4 HD, BBC News HD etc, but my girlfriend has them in Essex (Southend plus several other channels in HD).
So I'd like to know please why Watford still doesn't have these additional HD channels? and when we can expect to have them, I guess soon? many thanks

Paul Alley: It isn't likely, I'm afraid, not to the Pimlico transmitter.
The new HD multiplexes (two are coming) are quasi-national. They broadcast from 30 of the largest transmitters and are on lower power than the other channels from those transmitters. This means that coverage is more skeletal and even more skeletal than the pre-switchover digital.
If any of your neighbours have Crystal Palace-facing aerials, as looking on Streetview I can see some have, then it might be worth enquirying with them as to if they have a HD receiver and whether they can get the new channels.
Despite being only 20 miles away you don't have line-of-sight owing to the high ground at Grim's Dyke being in the way.

Paul Alley: I should add that the plan for these 30 transmitters stands up until at least the end of 2018. So an increase in terrestrial coverage of the new HD services isn't likely before then.

Hi, my in-laws bought a new digital tv yesterday to replace an older tv and set top box with a larger screen. This was the only reason for the new purchase.
The reception on the new tv is awful and constantly pixelated. The image on the old tv was fine, even in the bad weather.
The only thing that has changed is the TV, any ideas please?

Salisbury
Salisbury SP4 6HD - BBC signal breaking up. ITV works fine. Roof mounted aerial about three years old. Coax replaced at same time. New TV this year. Direct signal path from aerial to TV. BBC programmes almost unwatchable! Seems only a recent problem although I think it might have been the same last Christmas.

John G: Dover located at just over 11 miles away is indicated as being the station that covers the given area, that is "if the P/Code supplied is applicable to it and not your own?, then although the possibility always exists of a fault having coincidentally developed in the aerial system at the same time as the TV was changed over its also possible that there is a problem at the transmitter, something which unfortunately cannot be verified or not as the case may be at this present time.
Therefore should the old TV still be located on the premises about the only way of excluding the aerial system from the equation is by temporarily coupling the old TV back up again.
By the way, that said is on the assumption that nothing is amiss with the aerial connection going into the TV.
