My analogue and DAB radio transmitters at PGSTART100

Note: under development. To help you to work out which DAB, FM and AM radio stations you can get, we have just traced your location to all of the transmitters within hundreds of miles. We use groundwave for AM broadcasts. For those you have access to, only the ones sending a strong enough signal are shown. DAB radio stations are grouped before transmission into 'Muxes' (multiplexes) which then broadcast on one frequency. The radio stations you can get are listed below the map.

On the following map, yellow house shows where you are and all the possible DAB (white), FM (blue) and AM (green) transmitters: You can single-click on the mast locations to show their calculated coverage area. You can also use the buttons below the map to choose transmitter name with a colour-coded Mux.

More radio stations on digital TV

There are three other popular ways to receive radio broadcasts: using Freeview, using Sky or using Freesat. There are over 30 radio stations on Freeview, almost 60 on Sky and about 40 on Freesat. You will need an aerial and digital TV for Freeview, a satellite dish and decoder box for both Freesat and Sky. If you use a screen with these services you also need a TV Licence, which isn't required at all for DAB or FM. You can see a full list of the radio stations here: Showing the free channels on Radio stations on digital TV.

Coverage areas shown

Because analogue signals fade over distance (and over time on the AM band) the shown coverage areas are for optimal reception, including FM stereo. It is often (and sometime occasionally) possible to get more stations than listed on AM and FM, but with poorer quality.

Your current reception perditions appear to be very, very, wrong (LEEDS). When will you get these correct?

Anthony:

Whose predictions are your referring to, this site or Freeview's site? And without a full postcode, it's not possible to make any constructive comment.
But just to add, predictions are predictions and what may be achievable in a specific location may be slightly different depending on local obstructions and the like.

If telephone lines develop bad joints or get connected to another line's wire due to insulation failure etc. then these sort of things can happen. When it's picking up radio it'll most likely be just the strongest signal(s) near the cable fault. As you've contacted your phone provider it should be completely resolved. It's not the fault of any of the radio stations you might hear.
As you've been getting calls for another number due to the crossed line, the only thing you should watch out for is that you aren't billed for any calls that the other party have made on their line.

Radio Related:
Our DAB radio consistantly loses reception at particular program changes on Radio 4 (sound becomes distorted and station has to be manually re-selected) Always occurs at the same time(s) every day. Is this a transmission problem? Is my radio somehow switching to another transmitter at these program changes? Any help greatly appreciated. (Have tried re-positioning radio, reset it etc etc.) This is DAB reception not FM.

Hi. I have heard of this before, but at the moment I can't recall, when (not so long ago) or where or what the solution (if any) was.
I'll see what I can discover and post back.

A brief correction to your details for Perth. Pure Radio has been discontinued and reeplaced by Original 106 from Aberdeen. Another local service!

Having eventually found where this reference is, not helped by a couple of links in the Radio section having got mangled it seems - AM/FM listings go to DAB and visa versa, I see from elsewhere that this looks like a very recent change -12th September 2023
The site owner is still playing catch-up with some of the changes from the 700MHz Clearance (over 1100 transmitters without counting the other AM/FM/DAB ones and recent changes there).
Unfortunately, I expect it'll take a while for such things to get updated.

How soon will DAB+ be introduced in the Poole and Dorset area more generally? My relative would be nearest to the Shaftesbury DAB transmitter, and wants to use DAB (and DAB+) in her car. Thank you for offering this facility!
