Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) mast?

Sutton Coldfield transmitter - Sutton Coldfield transmitter: Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 15/04/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels Digital tick

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Rod H:

Thanks for that update. When you hear more, ask them could they tell you what the technical fault was as there are technical/engineering contacts that are interested.

Thanks.

Update...nothing further from UCB - but happy to report that my service (UCB1, UCB2 and Classic FM) seems to have been restored, this morning :)

I have emailed again to inform them and to see if they have any details on the remediation, that they can share.

They have referred me back here :)

"Hi Rod, great to hear!

It's been confirmed that it was to do with a transmitter in the area, there have been a number of reports particularly in the Midlands of drop outs. You can take a look at the link below and look for your area to see if others have reported dropouts may be useful in the future!

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you continue to have issues here, and I'm very pleased to hear your service has returned.

Enjoy the rest of your week

God Bless

:D :D :D oh well. We may or may not ever discover! Thanks for the update.
The interesting bit in the reply however is -
"there have been a number of reports particularly in the Midlands"
which suggests it may have been a bit more widespread.
But another report where I mentioned Warmington, the poster did not give a postcode and it turns out it was not near Peterborough but one near Banbury!
This still puts Daventry at the centre of the issues, so whether it was synchronisation or power being down remains to be discovered!
