When BBCA started on C26 earlier this week it seems MUXC also moved from C27 to C34.

Anyone (else) missing the re-runs of Red Dwarf on Dave in the Bilsdale area might want to re-tune!

I have to manually tune to avoid spurious channels from Emley, I guess auto-tuners may not have noticed this additional change?

I have been lucky enough to be part of the Digital Outreach team based at the methodist Church in Richmond. Personally I have had no problems although I would like to mention that currently the BBC services on Channel 24 are still being radiated as you will get two lots of BBC4/Parliment and Cbeebees and the radio until the second stage of DSO. In addition, ITV1+1 from Bilsdale is Tyne Tess not Yorkshire as shown on your info pages.

Paul: Digital UK expect you to be using the Skinningrove repeater transmitter, rather than the main Bilsdale transmitter. You don't have line-of-sight over the cliffs.

The Skinningrove transmitter will be using different, slightly higher, frequencies after switchover compared to before. If you have reception problems it may be worth swapping the aerial for a group C/D or wideband design.

Skinningrove does not yet transmit ITV1, Channel 4 or Channel 5 in digital form. They will be turned on, along with the HD services, next Wednesday. The new services are expected to be available from mid-afternoon: see Digital UK - Relay transmitter switching times for updated information on the day.

If the problem persists after switchover completes, or for reassurance that the local transmitter is working properly, contact Digital UK on the number on their website.

Hi,
During the last week or so, I have been helping some elderly friends to re-tune their equipment - a mix of built-in TV and set-top boxes and have a problem with one installation. I did a 'first time installation' procedure and all channels except BBC2 were present. I repeated the procedure twice, but the result was just the same - no BBC2.
The equipment is a set top box located in Richmond North Yorks - Post code DL10 7DQ and the aerial is chimney mounted.
Do you think the situation is liable to be resolved after the 26th September?
Thanks.

Bill: This is strange and makes me wonder whether you are, somehow, viewing the analogue signals. On analogue BBC Two has been switched off.

With the digital, multiple services are carried on one signal, unlike analogue where one service occupied one UHF channel (signal).

So if you have BBC One and BBC Three, then you would be expected to have BBC Two.

Are you sure that you haven't unknowingly used the TV's remote and carried out a retune of the TV's analogue tuner?

In answer to your question, BBC standard definition TV and radio is now on the full final power (it has "switched" as it were).

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply
I am 100% sure that I am not trying to view the Analogue signal, since when I change channels using the remote control, there is always a pop-up window showing DTV and the selected channel, but BBC2 is missing from the channel list. I do realise that BBC2 is no longer available on Analogue.....

I seem to remember reading somewhere, that some early 'Digiboxes' had problems resolving particular channels ?? I'm not sure of the Make/Model of the unit in question and will not be able to find out until mid next week - friends are away at present....

Further thought to my comments above - I could select other 'Free-to-Air' channels such as ITV2, ITV3, Dave, Pick TV etc. which would confirm that I was viewing Digital TV....

Hi,
Since the first part of the digital switchover on Sep 12th I'm constantly loosing the digital BBC channels. I've tried various retunes and even the retune procedure with the aerial cable out then back in, all to no avail. The aerial is roof mounted and the location is TS17 0SH, Ingleby Barwick. I should mention that I keep getting on screen messages coming through saying 'The channel list has been updated'
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't want to speak too soon but I think the problem is resolved. I tried resetting the digital box to the factory default and doing a fresh installation and the BBC channels are now present.
Hopefully it'll be ok now.
