Mike, forgot to answer your question. Signals all coming from Blackhill - frequencies match. Interference seems to last between 10 to 60 minutes when it does happen.

any ideas what's going on with freeview hd from blackhill, had 13% signal quality and 62% strength at 10:30 for russell howard, then back at 86% quality and 88% strength at 11:45. had same issue during grandprix last sunday. why is signal more eratic now than before switchover. ps normal freeview 100% quality and 95% strength all the way through.

thanks briantist, had a look at page and went round turning off heating etc but to no avail. something from someone elses house is either interfering or the signal from blackhill keeps getting turned up and down. currently 49% quality and 82% power, was 100% quality and 95% power around about 5:30. i'm finding it all rather bizarre.

Over the summer all freeview channels both standard and HD were fine from Blackhill.
In the last few weeks standard freeview is fine but HD has quality that jumps erratically sometimes even down to zero.

Thanks for the response Briantist.

The quality of my Freeview HD reception is now very good again.
Over the period where the quality was poor the weather was bad with lots of heavy rain and wind. The weather then improved and the quality was better.
On Thursday 8th Dec 2011 when the high winds hit the country the quality was bad again.
My aerial is in the loft but the weather does look like the most likely reason for my quality problems.

Brian
